Has a consistent record of being relatively successful in English football. Not in terms of winning trophies but in stabilising teams and making good signings at clubs with lower expectations. Pretty much exactly what we need right now I'm afraid. I'd love us to get Simeone but that isn't going to happen, and managers like Silva feel like too much of a risk given the position we're in.

It’s quite obvious the players are not doing their jobs in any way shape or form and need someone like Moyes, Pulis or Allardyce to drill them and tell them exactly what they should be doing from minute 1.

It's vile, most of us will hate the appointment, but it's got to be done. It's got to the stage now where there is no other choice other than to appoint a "survival specialist". A fancy pants foreign manager would be too much of a risk with the squad that's in place.

Who knows how catastrophic it'd be if we were relegated - for a start we could kiss goodbye to the idea of a shiny new stadium on the docks.

voted no, but after watching us this last week I can sort of see why they have absolutely bottled it

you'd think there is someone else out there a better option, but I reckon we've probably just been swerved by everyone, especially being mid season, think it will be far easier to attract a better manager in the summer, something we wont be able to do in the championship if unsworth stays

Dignity?? The performances against Arsenal, Atalanta and Southampton (to name but 3)have been nothing short of a disgrace, embarassing.

Ideally no, but I don't think he is a bad manager, a lot more progressive than people give him credit for and although he seems to have a set "style" he is not adverse to some quality players (Okocha, Djorkaeff, Nakata etc).

Regardless if he is the man then he will get my full support. It would be interesting to see what he can do at a "bigger club".

If the board are thinking "get him in, give him what he wants (2 1/2 year deal)"... instead of the rumoured 6th month offer, then we can just sack him in the summer. We tried for better managers but they wouldn't come mid-season.

I would take a scrappy 1-0 win over the absolute hammerings we have been taking!
