So is anyone gonna buy the new kit?

Yes, I will be getting it, as it is a tradition.

I support the club, I get my Season Ticket, I buy the shirt, I wear said shirt to the match.

I very rarely wear the shirt on any other occasion than going to the match, and once the season is finished, I will very rarely wear it again.

Besides, crazy new badge asside, it's actually a pretty smart shirt.

No because it's terrible and it won't matter if people buy them or not the club still get a 'x' amount of money.

Exactly, by buying it your only lining Kitbag/Nike's pockets, not the clubs, the kit had been outsourced (as has all our merchandise). This kit needs record low sales to show Nike they can't just boss around clubs into attempting to squeeze the most profit from the kits.

Do Evertonians not know that EFC Ltd do not make a penny from any Everton-branded merchandise, just as buying a pint and a hot dog at Half-Time also does not financially benefit EFC Ltd one bit?
The short-sightedness of this joke board has ensured that all revenue-making streams have been outsourced - merchandise and catering.
We also lease our training ground - which after moving to Finch Farm and leasing the ground for £1m+ per annum is now costing us more than if we had of bought FF outright for £8m.

So not buying the top doesnt effect Everton at all - buy it if you like it and its sh8t badge or not. Also, buy a pint and burger outside Goodison and help the local community, not the catering supplier.

Went to the Everton shop yesterday and the new badge looks even more horrific in real life than it does on the pictures

Thanks for this mate. It was going to be my next question as I wasn't sure how the kitbag/Nike deal is put together. If the club don't receive a percentage of sales volumes on top of the flat contract rate, then I won't be buying the shirt.

I would also suggest that no one buys the shirt or any merchandise in this case, as sitting on our hands won't force a change in this issue of outsourcing.

Thanks again mate.

May want to do some more research bud; its a set figure per annum(£2.5m) plus a percentage of any sales.

Thing is, using that logic, we are given an amount based on a perceived amount of sales that they think they will get for representing us, which guarantees us an amount of income up front each year across the length of the contract, and is supposed to guarantee them an amount back.

At the end of that deal, a new 1 will be negotiated. And we will be able to go to Kit bag and say, over the course of the contract we made you X, we want the new contract to represent what we are worth.

Or they will come back to us and say, we made a loss on your contract, we want the new contract to represent what you are worth.

So yes, individual shirt sales don't effect Everton on a day to day basis, but collectively, they will do eventually.

And besides, the new badge will (hopefully) be a 1 off, so it has it's merits.
