Well mate, you basically think my job is a piece of piss that anyone can do it. That makes me feel inferior. I didn't go to Uni so that a 13 year old can do it. There is so much more to what I do then opening up Dreamweaver and slapping some code on a page. So much more.

I stated 13 year olds can design websites (as you know, the best in the business in my opinion is 15) & that 14/15 year olds have to create decent websites (seriously, they aren't just slapped code on Dreamweaver), to obtain a GCSE across the country. You disagreed, but its fact. Google and exam board websites will show you, and give a detailed criteria.

I never disagreed, just think it's not fair to say 13-15 year olds can create compelling web products across the board. Although I have no doubt that future generations will, as it's become that important. But there is no GCSE I know at the moment that teaches XSLT, or XML data structures, or jQuery, or Advanced CSS. I'm happy to be proved wrong.

Also, and this is the biggy. Experience. Knowing an audience and reaching out to them is going to be difficult if all you know is code. I'm talking Marketing skills, branding, colour theory, usability studies. Most of these are advanced qualities that they don't teach at GCSE level.

Tell you what though, that Flash site is some pretty nifty work, and it's obvious the boy/girl has talent. Your not going to get too many young Flash designers that gifted, that young.

Also, I am not a Flash Designer, and there is a difference. I'm more of an XHTML/CSS developer, and Front End design.

Very good, do you know him? It's always good to know some Flash developers, the one I know at the moment charges something like €50 an hour.
