Glad we didn't go to penalties, we don't need opposing gk getting his confidence up. Timmy on penalties in knockout rounds is our secret weapon!

The Korean GK fell asleep on the cross that lead to the first goal. His defenders all expected him to come claim it.

The Korean goal was no surprise as they were due. Tabarez, the coach made a huge mistake in not subbing a player on to get some steel in the midfield to slow up/break down the constant Korean attacks. Suarez bailed him out with his goal though and a sublime goal it was.

Tough day for Korea as they could have easily gone through.

Loving their player Chunyong Park (do I have it right?) That guy can play and was a constant threat.

I really hope America win against Ghana as I'm watching it with a good buddy from North Carolina.

Tough loss but they can hang their heads high. Very solid team, not sure which I would prefer the U.S. to meet if we could get by Ghana. Part of me is thinking Uruguay could be a blessing in disguise tbh. I think South Korea bring some qualities which we would struggle with.

Then again, that's irrelevant if we lose today. Hopefully a good match.

South Korea played well. I'm going to miss my favorite player: Cha Du Ri - the Korean Johnny H. He had another good game. Urugray all but abandonded attacking on the right side after he dispossessed them easily. Plus good on the ball and a threat going forward. Going to have to watch some Bundesliga next season to see him, I'm buying his jersey.

I don't think its an accident that with Du Ri SK makes the Semis on 2002, crashes out without him in 06, gets 4 points in 2 games w/ him and gets smashed by the Argies when he doesn't get on the field.

South Korea's problem today: Scoring in the 70th and not the 85-90th minute. Urugray was stupid to sit all 11 back against SK. You beat SK by attacking their CBs and not by packing in and hoping they won't score because that's futile.

Would have loved a US -- South Korea matchup. It could have been a 4-3 affair. Want to come to the Gold Cup guys?
