It's their style of play I think. When it works it can be really effective but when it goes wrong it goes very wrong. I didn't see the game but from what I heard they basically tried to play the same high energy pressing game as usual despite playing virtually the entire game a man down. There was already enough space for it not to work because of that and then by early in the second half they were just dead on their feet. I like what Hassenhuttl wants to do, but he seems to be very much a one trick pony.

It's school of Red Bull mentality though, like you say when it works it works, but when it does'nt it seems to go spectacularly wrong at times. I think it's a player thing tbh Southampton just have a really average squad and very little in the way of options, they also had something like 9 first team players out injured last night.

tbf honest as a United fan 9-0 sounds great but they had a man sent off early and that made it a lot easier , it looks great but its only 3 points i hope we have not left our shooting boots off when we play your mob on saturday night , i dont think you could really judge either team on last nights performance

This.

Though then again, they defended very well against Liverpool the other week.

Maybe it's just a lack of strength in depth or whatever.
