Really can't see anything but a complete pasting to be honest. They seem the more confident side, pace in key areas - while we're the total opposite.

Yep. We've been here before under Martinez many times last season. We've a good few injuries, low confidence, away from home against a decent side at a ground where we never win. Or score, for that matter. Can't see anything other than a comfortable win for the home side.

You've come to this conclusion based on one week in which both teams drew their games 2-2?

Not really no - based on the entirety of last season as well as what we saw last week.

Just got a feeling that a side like Southampton are the worst possible side we'd want to play right now. You never know, we might adapt our game and counter attack them and come out with something new, but my fear is that we'll go with the same old same old and get turned over easily.

Play the team when Kone came on. Barry left back and Kone up front with Rom. Delufelu to come on second half for a run out. 2-1 Everton win!

No square pegs in round holes, a la Cleverly on left mid ffs. Play players in their correct positions. Oviedo at left back please.

My line up would be:

Howard
Coleman - Stones - Jagielka - Oviedo
McCarthy - Barkley
Mirallas - Cleverley - Deulofeu
Lukaku
It won't be though of course.

I would play Cleverley there, for the simple reason is he's willing to run beyond Lukaku and create space unlike everyone else in that role.

On another note, I don't mind playing Barkley in a more central role, but the lad has got to be tougher and play like he wants it, too many times against Watford he just lets players ghost past him or push him aside very easily.

My thinking with Barkley and Cleverley is they could inter change a fair bit. Barkley goes forward, Clevs stay back and vice versa.

Tbf, Mirallas and Deulofeu may both be unfit to start.

But yeah, the McCarthy-Barry axis of evil is nailed on.

I reckon Naismith will start on one of the wings.

Look mate my contacts with the management have been kept under wraps for now and I'd rather it stayed that way.

McCarthy, Barkley and Cleverly make for a very energetic midfield 3, good balance of attack and defence too. I hope we see it fairly often this season.
