Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
there will be people from other sports who you have seen (prob on the box) that have captured your imagination so much that when you've heard the name again you've stopped to watch them.
as a kid i used to be fascinated when ski-sunday was on Franz Klammer was king of the hills for me at that time, once i started to go skiing though my allegiance changed a little, it was still franny for the downhill but whilst in italy at santa caterina i watched a slalom comp, you have to stand on one of these slopes to appreciate how steep the things are and how far they have to move across the slopes to get around the gates. a skier came down that day and the hill came alive, i urged him on every time he was on the box after that Alberto Tomba or Tomba la Bomba ("Tomba the Bomb") as he was known.
there was another who's name escapes me but was always introduced as "italian but skiing for liechtenstein"

so it's Franz Klammer for downhill
Alberto Tomba for slalom

i was at silverstone when schumacher broke his leg. pedro diniz finished 6th and in the points that day f1 fans.

legends in sport?

cricket... brian lara

egg chasers..... wilko

wrong.

some men just stand out becuse they shine so much more brightly than the others.

As a man, yes he was different and what he stood for was good. I speak to a lot of my mates who are well into their boxing and they say as a boxer he wasn't the greatest and i tend to agree with that. I think there have been many better than him in the ring
