Interesting choice mate, on a personal level he's an absolute helmet.

Good at throwing arrows like.

I don't think there is any other individual sportsperson in the world who can boast they have won 14 world titles - truly amazing. Doesn't get the credit he deserves does 'The Power'.

Agree though, hasn't got the best personality

Phil 'The Power' Taylor was ace, seen him at the echo this year

Can't have people who's girth would make James Beattie look anorexic. It's in the small print. The bit under 'not proper athletes', subsection 'snobbish comments about pub sports'.

If archery is an olympic sport, the Darts has every right to be aswell. Same principle

Max Woosnam. I only heard about this bloke a few years ago, but what a legend. To achieve what he did would be every schoolboys dream.

Max Woosnam was a true all-round sportsman around in the 1920's. He came from Chester, and studied at Cambridge where he won blues Blues at football, golf, tennis and real tennis.

As a footballer he played for Corinthians, Chelsea, and captained Manchester City in the First Division. He was also an England Captain. He had to stop playing football after suffering a broken leg.

He played first-class cricket for Cambridge and was a Wimbledon champion, winning the men's doubles. He also won an Olympic gold medal for tennis in Antwerp in 1920, and captained Britain in the Davis Cup.

After retirement, Woosnam was a leading member of the International Lawn Tennis Federation.

One last thing. He never took payment for playing sport. He remained an amateur all his life. Imagine what he could have earned if he had achieved this today as a professional sportsman.
