A van made to look like the famous Mystery Machine from the Scooby Doo cartoon series has been involved in a 100mph police chase.
The driver, 51-year-old Sharon Kay Turman, managed to evade Redding police during Sunday's chase in northern California and is still on the run.
She is now wanted for alleged probation violations.

KRCR news said Turman's 1994 Chrysler Town and Country minivan had been painted to resemble the van of cartoon fame.
She would have gotten away too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids!

Apart from the dodgy paint job it looks sod all like the real thing! And why write Scooby-Doo on it?

Empty Farnborough car park 'only accessible on foot'

A roof-top car park has lain unused for five years because it can only be accessed on foot, it has been revealed.
The 80 spaces, on top of a gym in Farnborough, Hampshire, were intended to relieve parking pressure in the town centre.
But a planned bridge, which would have provided vehicle access, was never built after construction of a second building with a vehicle ramp stalled.
The council's chief executive blamed the economic downturn for the delay.

'Ridiculous'
Developer, St Modwen admitted there is no timescale for the bridge's completion.
Gareth Lyon, Conservative councillor for the town centre area on Rushmoor Borough Council and member of its development management committee, said: "We have a massive problem with car parking in Farnborough.
"To have had this huge car park lying empty defies belief. It is ridiculous."

The car park, complete with painted bays, was built on the roof of a gym five years ago
A St Modwen spokesman said development was part of a "long-term regeneration project" of Farnborough which had already delivered 185,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and hotel space.
Rushmoor Borough Council's chief executive, Andrew Lloyd, told The Independent newspaper St Modwen had rightly decided not to proceed with the development during the economic downturn.
"It was right not to proceed until the retail units of the first phase had been let. It wasn't desirable to proceed with void properties in the middle of the recession," he said.
He said a shortage of parking spaces was "not a major issue" in the town.

Exorcist warns vampire ritual killings 'on the rise' after spate of Satanic initiation murders

UPDATED 12:54, 10 MAR 2016

This comes as an exorcist said the 'devil worship' rituals are happening across Mexico

Police have warned that a number of recent murders could be the result of satanic ritual killings in which the victim hopes to be reborn as a vampire .
The murder of a 24-year-old man has led cops to believe he was the victim of a vampire cult killing.
Edwin Juarez Palma was allegedly strangled, beaten and cut with a broken bottle at the cyber cafe in the northern city of Chihuahua, Mexico.
He had his hands tied up and was beaten and attacked with glass bottles before hisdeath , designed to 'transform him into a vampire'.
This comes as a leading exorcist warned these type of killings are on the rise in non-Christian countries.
Father José Antonio Fortea said: "The vampire fad is something that's very close to Satanism."
He said: "[The fad] is not just a taste for darkness, but rather a taste for evil, an aesthetic connected to an entire way of looking at life.”
"Vampire-ism totally amounts to devil worship."
The father added that these killings are cropping up in secular societies.
He added: "The more a society abandons the ways of God, the more cases of Satanism. The more a nation is Christian, there are fewer cases of devil worship."
Three men and one woman aged 18-25 were arrested for the death of the young man, called Edwin Miguel Juárez Palma, in Chihuahua, Mexico.

They reportedly told police they "profess Satanism" and chose the victim for "an initiation rite", reported Catholic News Agency.
The group said he would be initiated into the sect called ‘Sons of Baphomet 1,’ unaware he himself would be the 'sacrifice'.
Local media quoted the director general of the State Police, Pablo Rocha Acosta, as saying that he asked to participate in the initiation so he could “resurrect as a vampire.”

In May 2015, Father Fortea ordered a mass exorcism of the entire country of Mexico in order to block evil spirits from getting through.
He said though that this would not work on people who are already 'morally degraded'.

Frustrated motorist filmed taking 7 MINUTES to pull car out of tight parking spot on busy road
  • 10:52, 10 MAR 2016
  • UPDATED 11:24, 10 MAR 2016
Before long, a minute has elapsed and the car is not moving - and then, more than two minutes have gone by and things are even worse
A frustrated motorist has been filmed taking more than seven minutes to pull their car out from between two vehicles as traffic whizzes by on a busy road.
The epic operation took place on the pavement and road outside the Oasis Dental Care centre in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
In the clip things start well enough, as the woman pulls forwards and looks ready to take control of the situation.
But before long, a minute has elapsed and the car is not moving. And then, more than two minutes have gone by and things are even worse.

Despite only having moved about a metre, the driver gets out of their car to assess the lay of the land, and chat with two spectators who seem to be offering some moral support.
The car is then reversed back, apparently into its original position, reports the MEN.
More time passes and there’s still no sign of real progress.
At last, five minutes after the drama started, there’s some success and the car is pulled out of its pavement-bound parking spot into the road.

Clearly a perfectionist, the driver takes their time to pull back into the original spot – albeit this time off the pavement.
In total, almost seven minutes have passed before the unidentified woman exits the car, successfully parked up.
Though the footage isn’t clear, we’re fairly sure a look of triumph passes over her face.

'Milkybar Kid' toy gun robber jailed for Powys shop theft
  • 9 March 2016
  • From the section BBC

A robber who held up a shopkeeper using a toy gun "similar to that used by the Milkybar Kid" has been jailed.

Alan McNeill, 27, of Huyton, Liverpool, went into Greatorex in Llanrhaeadr ym Mochant, Powys, produced the toy and demanded the till was opened.

Shopkeeper Ian Myrick Jones challenged him and he fled with two bottles of liqueur.

McNeill was jailed for four years and three months at Mold Crown Court after admitting robbery and theft.

Getaway driver Hayley Sudlow, 32, of Oswestry, Shropshire, was jailed for three years and 10 months after pleading guilty to robbery.

Prosecutor David Mainstone said McNeill walked into the shop at about 20:00 BST on 22 April 2015.

"He then produced a gun and it was pointed at Mr Myrick Jones who immediately suspected that the gun was not real," he said.

"He described it as a silver coloured child's toy gun similar to that used by the Milkybar Kid."

After failing to open the till, McNeill grabbed two bottles of Southern Comfort, which he had already placed on the counter, and ran away.

Sudlow, McNeill's then-girlfriend, was waiting in a Nissan Primstar nearby and the pair fled in the car.

The court heard McNeill stole the replica Colt 45 from a Wild West enthusiast who collected cowboy-themed memorabilia.
