You got him as a saint and all the dragon-slaying nonsense from our objectively better Eastern Orthodox Church as Britain is allergic to originality if it's not some cringe sing-song competition. He was picked as a patron as he's perceived as strong because of the dragon-slaying and all.
But you do definitely also use the occasion to rightfully celebrate subjugating the Welsh.
