I missed the match but I just watched back some of the "highlights" and their first goal was embarrassing. Schneiderat didn't even make an attempt and was just jogging and standing around. Useless player with a terrible attitude. I've seen a lot of people on here try and convince me hes not one of the many problems with this team lol. Hes a disgrace

Let’s be clear anyone with half a footballing brain knew that we needed to replace 3 out of the back 4 plus Schneiderlin as defensive midfielder. The fact that we haven’t bought any people for those positions is a major concern. What are Brands and Silva waiting for?!
 
I never thought it possible but Silva so far has taken the team backwards!

Seeing as in his other two posts in the PL his impact was immediate this is very worrying -- particularly as after his initial impact his results turned dreadful!

Silva is playing a high pressing defensive line, Jags and Keane cant do that if we dont get new centre backs in we need to drop deep and play like we did last season, otherwise we will go down.
 
If we are getting at least 2 defenders in soon then good but, my next wish is for a midfielder who can get the ball from the defenders, turn and face the oppo goal and pass the ball forward to one of our attackers.

But my point is that we have persevered with 2 DCM in whatever formation since Martinez and where has it got us, we still ship lots of goals. Why can't we play 1 DCM and field an extra player in attack.

I have to agree with all of this. Opposition teams have obviously seen our inability to break down a packed defense at the same time as being vulnerable to a swift counter attack. So they defend indepth and mount swift counter attacks. They only have to score a couple and it's game over.

I know nothing about football management so this may be a load of tosh by the way. :blush::blush:

I think you’re on the money for what it’s worth! I’m concerned: lambs to the slaughter on opening day. I think Pickford will be busy!
