I still get charged or I would. I thought it was a 7.45 kick off so I would've only missed 15 minutes.

Come on now kb. Your not really going on a driving lesson instead of watching the boys in the most importent game of the season thus far?...

Just ring him an tell him your not well, it should only be half price. Or go an slash all his wheels, he'll ring you then an cancel.

Great idea...(y)

I do feel a case of Man Flu kicking in....

Tonight is the night its all going to click into place, if we send cross after cross in their box its gonna go nowhere.Play it through the centre no doubht they will play their spoiling tactics and hope to hit us on the break. Its just like Everton to get the hardest draw, and have the hardest task.

Bloody Pompey, Villa, Spur, and City all getting no hopers.

To do that we need someone like Osman or Arteta in the middle. The Echo expect us to go 4-4-2 so I'm expecting Saha to start and we'll probably have Cahill and Nevile in midfield.

With Neville and Cahill in midfield everything will go threw the flanks, neither have the quality or passing ability to provide in central areas.

Considering we need goals then i'd be shocked if we dont go for a 442 with Saha starting...but...their manager has stated their gonna come at us, so if we do concede 1 its gonna make it very tough, 2 and we're as good as out, 3 and its all over, so with that in mind then I suppose it wouldnt be too surprising if we stick to 451 and play long balls into the box and hope to knick a goal that way.

That's a fair point to be honest. I wouldnt be surprised if Neville, Castillo, and Cahill play in the middle because of that.

But Saha is looking good. He's looking like if he gets in the box he's gonna get a goal or at least a shot on target.

Its all about the game plan. Do we go at them from the off and nick a goal or 2 then change? Or do we stay on the back foot and go all out after an hour in?

I don't mind going 4-4-2 if we've got the right players playing. Cahill and Neville is a proven failure, it didn't work in 05/06 when we finished 11th and I don't see how it's going to work now.

European football is all about keeping possession, Cahill and Neville will battle and get stuck in but they won't get the ball and make things happen. That will isolate our wide players who are going to be key.

If we go 4-4-2 and we've got Pienaar and Arteta in there we'd be alot better, Osman is a nothing player on the wing. Nowhere near as effective. So really your looking at Arteta and Arteta alone to provide the quality and creativity. That makes us very one dimensional in my opinion.

If it was me I'd go 4-5-1 and see what happens, if it's not working we can always throw Saha on and go all out attack.

No live video stream for us overseas EvertonTV subscribers...

(Sorry about the smiley, chico, if you've dug yourself out of the rubble and are reading...)

Agreed, that's crap.

What am I paying Everton TV for then if I can't get games like this?

If we do go for the 451 option, considering Saha's ability from long range, should we drop Yakubu in favour of Saha? You could actually field both forwards, one in each half. Although I cant see that happening as Moyes usually likes to have a contingency plan of strikers on the bench and throwing them all on if we go a goal down.

Personally, given how Yak played against the rs, id go for Saha up front if it was down to just one of them.

Thats a good shout that actually. A bit more workrate upfront may also give extra motivation to the rest of the squad to run that extra yard.

I would like:

Howard

Neville - Yobo - Jagielka - Lescott

Arteta - Osman - Castillo - Baines/Valente

Cahill

Saha

Bench: Nash, Hibbert, Baines/Valente, Pienaar, Vaughan/Anichebe, Yakubu, Rodwell

For me Yakubu hasnt really done enough in the past few games, and Saha has looked great, so id start Saha. Keep the 5-4-1 formation so its abit more defensive also. Lescott is still vital in the team even though he is playing bad, so id start him, and put Baines or Valente Left mind to give some protection for Lescott...

Any one agree?

Drop your best striker? The one who scored against Standard in the last leg and has 4 in 7 games. The one who was one of our top goalscorers in Europe last season. I don't think so, realistically it wouldn't happen either.

I wouldn't play a left back in midfield either, it completely unbalances to be honest.

For me Saha has looked teh better striker this season, And we have a better chance of getting a goal through him - IMO though...

...and well, Lescott needs some cover i think, cos he goes up too often, and we dont exactly have another LM, Pienaar hasnt played any matches, and Osman is terrible on the wing but better in the center...
