I liked the prequels. NEA
Lol. If this is the kind of thinking behind people who don't like the new one then that explains a lot!

deffo the actors in the prequels, but the overuse of CGI was just as big a problem with themI'd rank them: IV, V, VII, III, VI, I, II.
The new one is brilliant, right up there with the first two. The last of the prequels however was really good and gets unfairly lumped in with I and II. I and II were not as bad as people like to say they were though; they just lacked good enough characters and in some cases, actors.
Doesn't help that nostalgia makes people retroactively polish the originals until they're essentially perfect and impossible to match. Every Star Wars film has flaws and few, if any, of them stand up individually as truly great films, in my opinion. And I'm a huge Star Wars fan. It's the universe as a whole that I love. And that's where VII truly succeeds. It just feels like proper Star Wars, and takes you right back into that universe. I'm very excited to see where they go from here with the characters. Kudos to whoever was in charge of the casting this time around.

III get bad press because it takes 2 hours to get to the good bit.
And for me personally because it takes one of the best moments in the film, Obi-Wan defeating Anakin and pouring his heart out, and immediately ruining it by having him walk off while the person who is apparently a brother to him burns alive.
Obviously Anakin has to live but that was such a poor choice of how to do it.
Reported low 7 figure sumTook my son to see it yesterday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Liked the new heroes and villains.
Just out of curiosity, would anyone know how much Hammil got paid for his, err, participation?
