Everything post-Return nof the Jedi in the timeline of the expanded universe is null and void now anyway.

There is an amazing game called Knights of the Old Republic, set before the films, which I'd encourage anyone to play.

I'm convinced that there are three categories of people who complain about this trailer.

1 - People who never liked/watched Star Wars in the first place (so who effing cares what they think?)

2 - People who have that horrible snobbish tendency to crap all over *anything* that most others like. A subset of this group is people who also claim to like things that others don't. "Ugh, Star Wars (rolleyes). You have no idea how good My Little Pony is."

3 - Disgruntled fans of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, still salty that all the books/comics/etc. that came after Return of the Jedi have been tossed out. I've seen this *a lot* lately.

I'm definitely number 1, and I'm fat.

Don't get me wrong, the Expanded Universe started out great - The first sequel trilogy of books (the "Thrawn Trilogy" by Timothy Zahn) were fantastic, and really felt like Star Wars. Over the years, though, as you got dozens upon dozens of new books continuing the story, it turned into a convoluted mess in my opinion. As of now, the only things that are canon are a) the films, b) the "Clone Wars" TV show, C) the current "Rebels" TV show, and D) any *new* books released through Disney. I think the only one so far is one about Grand Moff Tarkin, set before the original film.
