You were supposed to say 'No that's Roger' .
To which I'd reply 'You roger the [Poor language removed] if you want to, I'll put you down for an assist'.
But you didn't.

Can't stand Hunt. Dirty sod he is, puts in some sick tackles and is more trouble than he's worth the little tramp [Poor language removed].

I am up in Connecticut. I spent some time down in VA, obviously the Norfolk, Newport News area as my boat did some in's and out's from there. I'd love to live down near the Chesapeake. As long as you get out of the big urban areas it is beautiful down there. Oh, and Williamsburg is one of my favorite places to go and visit.

Agreed. CT's got some beautiful spaces too (though I don't think I've been there in a decade). Richmond is hardly the big urban area that DC is (or certainly most of the huge cities up near you). I've got family in chesapeake so I'm there every so often. I prefer the mountains myself, so I usually head west to the blue ridge when I'm looking to escape the city and find some natural beauty...

native. Loved the beautiful game my whole life, started following EPL 2 or 3 seasons ago. I gave myself a few weeks at the beginning of the season to educate myself and "choose" a team (or let it choose me).

I didn't want to be trendy like everyone else in the US and just pick one of the big 4... its like picking the yankee's or the red sox - there is just no heart in it (oh, I hate baseball by the way).

I also didn't want to pick a team that seemed a likely relegation worry (it's hard enough to follow a non-big 4 team over here - following a relegated team must be impossible).

The more I learned about the teams, Everton started to seem like the most natural fit. I did looke around to see what Americans were in the league. I was a keeper back when I played, so having that connection with Howard made me first look at the team.

I loved the blue collar nature of the whole team - Cahill became my favorite in no time (also really liked AJ and Cars - not the greatest of players, but their effort was never in doubt). Even things as simple as I loved the timeless name of the club "Everton" and I have always prefered blue over red (I'm a designer by trade, so I wanted to at least "not dislike" the color). I loved the rich history of the club, I loved Moyes... basically the more I learned about the club, the more it just seemed like a very natural fit for me (admittedly toffeeweb was a HUGE help in pointing me to the light and has been my primary source for all things EFC - but I'm starting to branch out to places like GOT now).

Also worth noting that as I began the search, everything I kept learning and seeing about liverpool fc just made me sick, so I had (still have) a serious dislike for that club, and I love how everton acts as a natural "foil" to the evil reds. Sadly the only pub in town that cares about footy is "Penny Lane Pub" - and their allegiances lie with the red side of Mersey, so it has been a lonely go here in town.

How about you? Ex-pat or native? What's your story?

Please no...

It was bad enough to stick with a player labeled for diving and therefore not getting deserved penalties... We can just pass the guy who cracked Cech's head... We don't get penalties already we don't need players getting sent off for nothing because of a headless chicken who goes for a tackle without knowing the difference between a football tackle and some taekondo [Poor language removed]..

Heh.

Quote of the Day right there.

That might even be signature material.

Good one Chris. (y)
