look at our squad and think any manager would struggle to get a decent first XI out of it.

As I've been saying since Lukaku/Barkley looked like they were off, with Baines, Coleman, Jags and Williams finished (or injured) major rebuilding was required.

I didn't forsee the collapse in form of Schneiderlin which has added to the woes.

But a front 4 of Tosun/Rooney/Siggy/Bolasie is as bad as it gets. Individually they are all fine (midtable) players but the skills don't complement each other. It isn't like they are youngsters, it is a dad's army attack. None would have a sniff of the top 6 clubs and most of the league wouldn't want them. That is £90m of Walsh approved deals.

DCL/Lookman/Vlasic have shown flashes of talent.

Midfield is awful - we don't have a passer or someone who can drive forward with the ball. It isn't as if they are solid either. Klaassen/Scheniderlin cost over £50m.

Defence - Keane and Williams represent £40m of investment. Keane's success was in a very, very deep defensive line. I pointed that out before we signed him. Did our scouts consider that?

That is £180m of first team signings - too soon to judge Tosun as a player but he is a massive failure in value for money terms -who would be massive losses if resold and only Keane/Klaassen are pre-preak ages.

Absolutely woeful so far.
agree with everything bar tosun , how is he a massive failure in value for money at £25mil i think he could be decent which would mean he is worth at least as much as we paid for him

I've absolutely no idea what our scouts considered. I think they loaded up whoscored and picked players based on stats.

He didn't actually 'find' the players at Leicester, they had scouts who found those players and then he looked at them and decided with the Chairman and Ranieri if they should buy them. The guy who 'found' Kante & Mahrez went to Arsenal.
Serious question. But how come he managed to bamboozle the football media into believing he was "the man"?
I include myself amongst the masses who hadn't an earthly who he was before the miracle that was Leicester.
Then I'm reading about this guy who was the reason Leicester went from an almost relegated team to league champions.
Unbelievable!

For me we can't really blame Steve Walsh.

At Leicester he was a scout and assistant manager.

We have brought him in as the DoF. If we wanted to recruit a DoF then surely we should of gone for someone who has experience of the role. If we wanted to recruit a DoF from Leicester then surely we should of gone for the fella who actually did the job there.

Since 2014 that has been John Rudkin and not Walsh. Scouts judge players abilities DoF's have a vision of how it will all fit together. It's a bit like getting a brickie to design your house instead of an architect.

Get a brickie to design your house and you end up with a load of random walls that don't fit together get Walsh to build your team and you get a load of random 10's who will never fit together.
Which is why when people say Moshiri isn't to blame they are talking rot. He appointed this guy when it was clear to everyone he wouldn't be the right hire.

I think Walsh fits snuggly into the Dinasaurlike Everton board...Jobs for the boys..Blue Bil.l kin Elstone and others all patting each other on the back saying to each other how wonderful they are...when reality is they are kin totally clueless...A wishful thought would be big U comes in and has them binned off and lined up outside of Goodison and put in stocks everytime there was a home game everyone is give rotten fruit to throw at the f ukkas for years to come...

The club is a complete shambles, we need a root and branch clear out come summer. Walsh should go along with a considerable number of others from board members to players.

If we are basing it on performance there would literally be nobody left.

First thing we need to ask of players when they come here, do they want to win or will they cave and throw the towel in when we go behind?

Can somebody tell me when a director of football at any club has been successful at a premier league club
A manager needs to be in control of HIS players and systems
We don’t need a DOF here.

Get a manager that will oversee a project on the right way instead of this European rubbish way of doing things

Yet all these European clubs that operate with a DOF model have consistently outperformed English clubs for years and manage their resources much, much better than we do.

True and a good point
But maybe it’s due to the fact that Spain and Italy only have half a dozen big games domestically
Whereas the premier league is a big game every week!!

Most clubs have one just with different titles.

Man City have one.
Liverpool have a team of them.
Tottenham have a group headed by Levy.
