I was referring more to the “Everton will be glad of the opportunity to recoup what they paid to Wigan”, at a time when Baines was at the height of his ability.

Aye mate, was only joking really with you, the reality is that the article today is an obvious piece of speculation masking as him having some knowledge.

The strong rumours from journos who have contacts at the club - is that Brands is a 'likely' acquisition as the new DoF - Brands is represented by Raiola, and Brands will be in charge of recruitment, very obvious jump then to think that some of Brands agents other clients will be being 'suggested' to the DoF.

Foundries all over the world have been asked to quote on the order; but none have enough steel in stock to construct the skip big enough to accommodate the rubbish that is Gormless Walsh .

NSNO

Reading the Mirror article earlier saying that Raiola will be involved next season, is it just me or does anyone else want this knobhead as far away from Everton as possible.
I don't want him offloading Ballatelli or the like on us, we are already a joke without these mercenaries.
I don't want to keep Walsh either by the way.

Wow look at Spurs spending over the last 5 years.

Struggling to think who Crystal Palace could have spent all that money on aside from Benteke, and when they bought Zaha back from Man U...

Mad to think Everton have spent 70M a season since Moyes. That's like five Marouane Fellaini's a year at 2008 prices.

I thought that but Palace have only sold £50 million worth of players over 5 years where as we have sold £216 million.

Hang on isn't £27 million of that Bolasie !

To me all that shows is that spending power wise there is a clear divide which is growing by the year even between 7 clubs and the rest of the league and a further divide between 3 clubs and the other four in that group.

The saddest thing may be that we are one of those 7 yet are the only ones who haven't performed as such.

From memory the wages paid table has a similar look to it - clear top 7 divide, and a further disparity with 3-4 teams above the other ones in that 7.

Interesting to see how that table looks year on year going forward, as it will show any change as who the 'ambitious' clubs are and who have settled for the current position they occupy.

Not talking about net spend btw, which ultimately is just one stat, but the gross spend for me anyway is a more important reflection. The net spend can just highlight a very good ability to cash in on failed assets compared to other clubs - rs and spurs are brilliant at doing that for example.
