Steven Naismith

I noticed that among the first players to congratulate him and at the end too was Stones. They seem unlikely buddies!
Credit where its due he did the business Saturday!
His performance will not be forgotten quickly I hope.

I suspect that Naismith is Stones appointed 'minder'...as another poster has said he was the one sorting out at the service station a few weeks ago...and nais gets to makes comments to the press whenever Roberto thinks its slightly contentious...the 'Stones Affair', and the Mirrallas penalty incident. It is obvious that Roberto puts a lot of trust in Nais in these situations. Another reason not to sell him for a measly £8 mil.

Basking in the blue glory today, over me lunch time sarnies, I thought maybe a new song for Stephen Naismith.

To the tune of his favourite band The Proclaimers, and 500 hundred miles,

When he comes on, you know he's going to be
He's going to be the man to get right in your face,

When comes on, you know he's going to be
He's going to be the man who's going to score a brace

He will run five hundred miles, and he will run five hundred more
Just be the man to who put the blues in front
And that's our Stevie Nais!

Duh duh duh duh, duh duh etc etc

(Yes I know it was a hat trick but it doesn't rhyme)

I promise you this would not have detracted further from your efforts

I used to have Naismith as my display pic before I changed to Osman when people were on a "blame Osman" kick sometime last season.

Despite my love for Naismith I did wonder why we didn't take 8m -- even though I'm usually the "not for sale" type when it comes to our players.

That said I suspect the competition for places might be starting to reap dividends. When healthy (and when does that ever happen but still) we have a pretty damn good bench now. Especially now as question marks like Galloway are starting to be proven Prem players with huge upsides.

Naismith, Mirallas, Del ... they can't coast or they won't play. Same for the current first 11 in terms of holding onto their place (aside from Howard of course).

Don't quit your day job mate.

Mirallas was sitting there with a gob on him when we scored the second on Saturday. Everyone else celebrating and he's sat there with a long face.

Surprised that's the first time I've seen this mentioned. Mirallas had a face like a smacked arse when Naismith banged in the second and third goals. He seemed jolly at half-time though messing around doing keeps-puppy's with the other subs.
He is a proper sulker though.

Maybe playing the elder statesman role ( despite Barry and Jagielka being around)....bit like your good self on GOT Steve ;)

Under a defenders lower intestine more like.

Always said he was a hard-worker. Being just that is not enough. But now he is more and better than that. I am so relieved we did not sell him. He seems a good man off the pitch too.
