Would it be possible to sticky the Amazon thread so we don't have to go searching for it? It's now on page 2 and dropping down all the time now it's closed to further posts.

Please note this mods. Please also, can you make it clear to members that I am not responsible for these posts. I agree its 'just the internet' but falsely attributing posts to me can lead to further action, which we all want to avoid. Please delete any posts written in my name which were not written by me. These all take the form, as you say of 'fake quotes'. Its a blatant, immoral, and probably slanderous and plumbs the depths of incorrect use of the internet. We'll find out if it doesn't stop.

No one thinks you are writing them Steve. What do you mean by taking things further? You'll have to be quick or we won't have the European Court of Human Rights to fall back on.

Kurt for one apparently does. I cannot for the life of me see how the site finds it 'OK' for posters to change other posters comments, or allows false quotes to be attributed to posters . Surely there is a way to block this kind of thing? This is a great forum, with a wide range of writing,but credibility goes out of the window if posts can be changed by any member whenever they like.

As above, I have requested that people refrain from doing something that clearly upsets you. As you can see yourself, when you quote someone, it's fairly easy to edit the text that you quote, and there is a history on bulletin boards of people doing that, either to mess about or suggest an alternative meaning. From experience, I haven't encountered anyone that has been that bothered when it happens, but as you are, I have requested above that people refrain from doing so with your posts.
ps, I believe Kurt is referring to you getting wound up by things rather than believing you've purchased hair removal cream from Amazon

Thanks for your help. I've never experienced this kind of manipulation of posts previously, just on here ,with the odd word being changed . Hopefully it will stop now.Re my original quote re not dealing with Amazon,it was just a personal opinion, so if you feel it has a negative effect on your dealings with Amazon for the benefit of GOT, you can delete it.

We never mandate that people shop on Amazon (via GOT), people are free to shop wherever they choose, but if you do buy things there, if you do it via the site then it's something we would be grateful for.
