...agree Matey, I'm certain Koeman knows that. I presume Calvert-Lewin and Lookman will get a run of starts before the end of the season. Mirallas and Barkley's positions in particular must be under long term threat I fear.

the way Tom Davies can take the ball under pressure and can pick a pass I'd say he's prime to play in Ross' position Saturday and Gueye and Morgan do the defensive stuff.

wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see that along with Lookman getting his first start in place of Kevin. We simply can't afford to carry 3 players whose job it is to create/score goals like we did last night.

..I was just thinking how good Davies has been. He was up against a number of tough lads yesterday, you can imagine the verbals he was getting but he didn't retreat into his shell. Schneiderlin had real confidence in him, exchanging short passes, he's really looking the part.

Very interesting point about starting Davies in Barkley's position. I hadn't thought of that but I think it's worth a try.

I said last night eggs that on current form Davies is a given for one of the midfield slots and it's now up to the rest to fight it out for the other positions. He's showing everything you want from an Everton midfielder which is awareness, willing to take a pass, driving forward, physically not being bullied, can pick a pass and looks like he's got a goal in him.

at some point he's going to have a dip but he's already shown enough for me to think we've got an absolute pearler on our hands and has been the highlight of the season for me so far. He's bossed it against City and got stuck in against 2 big sides in Palace and Stoke and come out of it with flying colours.

Barkley just had 'one of them' last night.

Throughout the last six league games (our unbeaten run) he's been impressive.

It happens.

it happens too much for my liking Toff. I'd be surprised to see Ross and Kev in the starting line up Saturday. Even if they are, at least we know Lookman will offer some competition and we've got a whole host of options in the middle now to mix it up.

Ross was sloppy last night, had a bad one. Suppose we'll see.

I actually think Davies was really sloppy in the first half, but as he has done in the last few games he improved a lot in the second-half - he seems to just be growing into games a lot at the moment which is to be expected i suppose

the problem last night was everything went through barkley no one else was able to create anything as we didnt play with wingers, so everytime something didn't come off for barkley the groans started again, yes he didn't have a great game but the fans really need to leave the lad alone, davies makes a mistake which he did last night and its unlucky tom keep going lad, barkley makes a mistake or a pass doesn't end in a goal and its ya sh1te ross etc etc.

the top 3 were really poor eggs. I've found myself saying that far too many times the past couple of seasons. You can afford to have one of the 3 below average but you can't afford to have all 3 putting in performances like last night and expecting a win.

Need one of the two behind Rom to 've a consistant player, means mirallas and Barkley one of those needs dropping ideally to give the young lad a chance up front
