Hello folks – Stoke fan here in peace.

I work on the ‘Duck’ fanzine and I’m planning a different type of article for our next issue – out whenever something approaching normal matchdays return to our lives once more.

I aim to ask supporters of several clubs 5 questions about their perceptions of Stoke City in order a to create a big feature article “Us and Them.” For the following questions, feel free to answer in varied depth/ brevity but a couple of sentences at least for each is ideal:
  1. Generally how do you see Stoke City the club – a rival? Non-entity? Certain type of club? Disdain? Admiration? Pity?! As a fixture – is it of general appeal?

  1. Are there any Stoke players/ teams that have made an impression on you over the years?

  1. Are there matches between your team and Stoke you recall hating/ loving?

  1. In home / away matches, what have you made of the Stoke support? Any particular memories?

  1. The Victoria Ground/ The New One – what did/ do you make our of our home ground(s)’ the grounds? Any particular experiences or impressions?

Given our reputation over the years, this could be a risk but then again, it would be great if I could glean a diverse range of honest/ diverse/ cutting/ funny/ serious or even complimentary views.

If you can be arsed, thanks for your time.

Take care of yourselves,
Lee Hawthorne @ORFYDUCKMAG

1. Certainly not a rival
2. Matthews (but before my time!), Gordon Banks
3.1984 FA Cup tie, amazing Everton away support!
4.As above, wouldn't have known anyone from Stoke was there!
5. As above, never been to the "new" ground!

Oh and thanks for Adrian Heath!

Hope that helps!

Don't mind Stoke. One of the few stripey kits that look good.

Obviously Pejic and Inchy - but always liked Greenhoff and Hudson.
  1. Are there matches between your team and Stoke you recall hating/ loving?
We generally do well against Stoke - but that Shaqiri game haunts me still.
  1. In home / away matches, what have you made of the Stoke support? Any particular memories?
Stoke fans I've met have all been decent lads.
  1. The Victoria Ground/ The New One – what did/ do you make our of our home ground(s)’ the grounds? Any particular experiences or impressions?
Prefer the Victoria for atmosphere.

my uncle Tex was a miner lived in John Offley St so i can't be too harsh on the people
Don't mind Stoke as a team, never been to the new place.
Used to go regular in the 60s, we'd all pile into the victoria pub, seem to remember a big stair case.
I even came down to watch you play Pele's Santos
You should be at least getting promotion with the money your owner has.

I spent a couple of hours chatting with Alan Hudson a while ago, absolutely top fella.

Booing Ramsey was an absolute disgrace.

That's all I have.

You really need to get out more mate. Really.
I do get out. And I expected this response in all honesty. I play these games when plenty of others are watching tv or just random matches on a playstation. I see it as more creative and to me, certainly more interesting.

I could post pending fixtures and he could run a kind of pools syndicate! lol

That actually sounds pretty great.

God the old days of doing the pools.

I used to pick the crosses for my Grandad every week and then feel like a disappoint to him when they didn't win, great days.

Make it so @tommye or someone less stoned and corruptible.

Never really had a problem with Stoke.

They where often anti football yet scored some wonder goals: I remember an unbelievable one from Crouch v Man City.

The 3-4 victory at Goodison stands out when that horrid swiss gnome scored a couple. I realised then that Martinez would not succeed here.

Also you lot beating the RS 6-1 in slippy's last game was magical.

I have a few friends who are Stoke fans and they are good people. Hope to see you back up one day, but with more 6-1 drubbings of that lot, and less turgid pile the box rubbish.
