Why can we never play with 2 out and out wide men like last season, Mirrallas on the bench again, Naismith out wide.

Does this actually make sense to anyone?
See the thread about how pretty much none of the top teams in the league play 2 wide players. It's just not necessary with full-backs supplying most of the width. Even Moyes did it with Osman and Pienaar in the wide positions pretty often.

As for today, I'm happy Gibson is in, think he'll be crucial to breaking down their defense.

Easy mistake to make.

My god, has it really come to this ? From the school of science to the dreaded 3 man central mid - where did it all go wrong ? Romelu, I hope you're feeling up to creating a few chances for yourself, because looking at that team I can't see where a goal is going to come from. Didn't the fact that we failed to score, or create too many chances, against Chelsea and Arsenal suggest to you Roberto that more direct tactics would be needed in the must win game against Stoke ? I can write the script for this game already - I hope I'm proved wrong - but I suspect that if I am it will be down to the players rather than Martinez's tactical brilliance.

Not been convinced with Barkley or Naismith wide this season

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but WTF is going on with Kev?
Is he being left out of the side because of contract issues/being a tool about taking penno's?

Looking at that team walking out then...how average have we become? Forget form, that team is chocca full of mediocre players

He has been left out along with Barkley because they have both been sh*te for all/a large part of the season, no more so than against Arsenal at the weekend.
