No discredit to McAleny, but I think the signals aren't good if he and Vellios are getting a look in over him. Such a shame, because he really looked the part when he was playing in the Argentinian league.

what ever there paying him and mcfadden ,at a guess id say they will be taking about 35,to 40 grand a week between them, its dead money

Exactly right..........imagine the hard work it took to get Yak off the wage bill.....and now we have these 2 taking his salary.

I know what I'd rather have (in fact I would rather know we were saving that money).

And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
till denis hits the goal he must be blind
he's not the man we thought we got on loan
oh no, no, no. he's the Straqua man.
Straqua man, burning all our wage up here alone

Didn't Jo look the dogs bollocks in Russia though? Same with Bily. Both won the domestic league as their teams best players..

against west brom in the cup he didnt win one header against olssen. never won a header v wigan when he came on (when velios was winning everything in the air), and had a free header against someone and messed it up. looking at him it only looks like he is meant to be good in the air and he simply isnt up to it from what i can see.

he won the header that set up drenthe s goal v wigan

Moyes has just witnessed Straqualani's sumptuous play and told him to pretend he's sh*t while on loan so Bagpuss Redknapp and Tottingham don't swipe him away.

I think that's a bit harsh, Olsson's one of the league's best defenders defensively and Vellios is decent but he has not ever won everything in the air when I've seen him. Cahill's won a lot more headers in the games where they've played together. I think the both of them need time to find their feet, Vellios has a slight advantage in that he's been with the team longer and is more accustomed to the pace of the game.
If Moyes is going to keep up with the hoofball exercise and throwing crosses into the box a la Stoke, we need to have the both of them on the field, and probably Cahill as well. But whatever, I'm already convinced that's not how we should be playing if we're not down 1 or 2 to nothing against Arsenal. I'd much rather see our players play a passing game since we all know they're capable of it, they just need to get their off the ball movement together.

Still haven't an opinion on this guy have not seen anywhere near enough of him, or perhaps that's all I need to know.
