he has shown moments of skill. i can think of a couple "flick ons" that he's done that have sprung other players (first was for drenthe's first goal, another happened against norwich, wasn't a goal but was a good chance.)
that being said, moments like his "breakaway" pass to Vorm today are terrible. He is good in the air, and when he is ready to give a damn and fight, he can cause some defenses some trouble. He seems to make the "right" run a lot, but lacked the pace to capitalize. He also seems to be able to pick a pass. At best, i see him as a hold up player able to play in others to score (kinda like Hesky) but unlikely to hit the net himself too much. If we field a midfield of Pienaar, Donovan, and Drenthe all running in behind him, that could cause some real problems...
Workrate consistency, touch, shot, and top speed all need improvement.
