And you honestly think that Radiohead have never ever used a riff, chord progression, bass line etc from something else? Come off it, all bands do it, and I'll bet Radiohead are just the same.

Actually I think you'll find that Radiohead are actually one of the most original bands around. You've probably not listened to too much of their stuff apart from what has been in the charts but they have constantly been pushing the boundries of what is 'the norm' for this type of band.
Every band has influences, its impossible to create something which is pure in its originality anymore, everything has been done before, but there's a difference between being influenced by something and actually taking someone elses music and reworking it in to your own song.
I refute the suggestion that Radiohead were'nt even the biggest band of their time as they probably were. What other band around that time was massive here and in America? Radiohead have actually been blamed to some degree for the change from Brit Pop to more melencholy alternative rock that dominated british music until the influence of the Libertines started to take over from 2006 onwards. Some of the biggest bands of that time like Coldplay and Muse were massively influenced by Radiohead. I'm not saying they were as 'in your face' big as bands like Oasis were, but the late 90's/early 2000's saw a massive change in popular culture and it was not cool anymore to be big and brash. In fact OK Computer was released the same year as Be Here Now, and despite massive initial album sales Be Here Now say a massive drop in Oasis' stock and definately didnt receive the same critical acclaim that Ok Computer did. I would like to know if anyone can name a band who would be classed as 'a bigger band' then Radiohead between the years 1997 & 2000. As far as i'm concerned Radiohead at their peak were the biggest band around.
I take back what I said about Radiohead being the greatest band of all time, I should have probably said 'my favourite band of all time'. The beatles will probably always be the biggest band ever based on the cultural phenomenon they created back then, I can't see how that could ever be recreated or bettered in this day and age.
