Was it mate? Well I will trust you more than myself as my brain has been known to get muddled up. Got it half right though
Know that feeling all too well, pal
I tell you how I know that, Macca.
If you watch the TV highlights, and the BBC showed, the game a few weeks ago on that F.A. Cup retro show they have on Cup weekends this seaon, the commentator says before the end of the extra time "it looks like the teams will be coming back here next week to do it all over again".
And I then remembered hearing that at the time.
It puzzled me then and it still puzzles me.....because they always tossed up after the final whistle as far as I knew.
All added to the drama that made the FA Cup the world's greatest knockout competition -- before the FA decided to reduce the status of its own competition with a series of decisions starting with allowing Utd (who else) to skip the opening round so they could compete in the World Club play off (reportedly as an attempt to get FIFA onside in their bid to host a World Cup.
They didn't enter the Competition as the FA wanted them to go to Brazil to play in the World Club Championship, remember us giving mates stick until they came out with " nor arsed lads, we've booked and are going to Brazil to watch it," they did go as well & have some right tales about it, reckon it was amazing.
And of course Dalglish resigned afterwards and the rest is history. Or at least the RS title wins were. lol
If only last year's title race had finished at Easter
Indeed. But in the end Demba Ba ensured that we all lived happily ever after.
