For me, the difference between Sigurdsson and Richarlison is the potential to improve. I don't think we had a clear plan for using Sigurdsson after Giroud's Mrs jibbed us off and so he's been a bit of a square peg in a round hole (not helped by his crazy fee). I still think he's a decent player but we'll have to see how Silva wants to use him, if indeed he does. Richarlison on the other hand, we know exactly how Silva wants to use him and I'm excited to see it. He is overpriced, but there is a lot of politics in this transfer, the Silva compo issue is clearly wrapped up in all this and there will be a lot of add ons which means the "real" price is a good bit lower. I like the lad, I think he's a better player in his position than anyone we currently have, he can improve and he's a good age.
I agree. If we had priorty positions already boxed off (primarily LB and another out and out forward) then the moted cash for this might start be less of an irritant.

...still outrageous. 5 goals.

If we were buying a striker then yes i’d be a little more cautious.... we are not though

We are trying to purchase a youthful strong fast skillful winger who can pick up the ball and instantly change the momentum from defence to attack.... and he’s brazilian.... like brazil... ronaldinho country....

After a solid World Cup, Yerry Mina needs game time and to be at one of the biggest clubs in Europe, according to the player's uncle and agent.

Jair Mina admitted that, while a number of offers have landed at the Colombian's door, they are yet to consider them and discuss his future with Barcelona.

"If there have been formal offers from several teams for Yerry, from many countries and officially I know of Everton's, it is worth clarifying that I have referred them to Barcelona's agent, they will take note and then in time we will look at them," Jair told MARCA Claro.

"I always tell Yerry that to be great, he has to test himself at the biggest clubs, that's why he's at Barcelona."

Where Mina plays his football next season has been a big subject of debate and his uncle and agent pointed to the centre-back's contract with Barcelona as the key factor in his future.

"Yerry wants to play football, he hasn't asked me about any particular team," he continued.

"He wants to play football, but we are going to try to make it at a club where the player feels good and where he has the possibility of playing.

"We are clear on that line, but we cannot ignore that the player has a contract with Barcelona.

"This is just the beginning. We hope to have a pleasant conversation as we have always had with the people at Barcelona.

"The player is calm, his representatives are calm and we will try to get the best for him, considering that what he wants most is to play."
Why is Minas pervy uncle acting like he’s got a portfolio of players on his books the absolute ched sniffer, Stealing a living thanks to Yerry.

Family agents tend to take advantage of their sons/nephews/etc. He might be a problem down the road. Still would take Mina

Bobby knew more about kone than we did... koeman knows coco better than anyone on the planet apart from his own mother ... both still ended up here tho didn’t they
Ahh but you hit the point right there without realising it.

Kone and Martina were cheap back up. Yes the managers knew them and trusted them to be back up to Baines and new striker accordingly (ba was the target allegedly)

Every manager does it, except with richarldson in particular it's a 21 year old Brazilian attacker who has massive potential.

What could go wrong...

Not once has anybody claimed that an out and out Striker is a priority, love the way you keep moving the goalposts to fit your agenda Dave, I mean did I miss us buying 1 only 6 months ago? Now granted, in an ideal world we could do with another, but to suggest its a priority is utter poppycock.

Most people consider LB and CB as a priority, due to the aging players we have in those positions.

You have been crying all summer, suddenly Everton look like signing a player for massive money and its not good enough for you.
