“Ya’ll got any of them transfer rumours?”

In all seriousness though it's concerning how we are letting quality players slip through our fingers in areas that we need improving in.

No creativity in midfield so allow Meyer to go on a free to Palace.

No bite / energy in midfield so allow Seri to go to Fulham

No signings at CB or up top.

Leaving it late Everton tick tock!

I for one am glad that our new manager, new director of football and newly titled board members have done such a terrific job with the transfer window this summer that we aren't desperate for signings and scrambling for panic buys in the last week of the window. That would be horrible.

They've signed a striker whose scored 10 goals in 40 Premier League games for close to 30 million.

You'd be going mental if we did that deal.

they've signed a striker who suits their style of play. he will do well with them as they know how to utiilse him

Schalke made basically zero attempt to keep Max Meyer because the coaches and squad almost universally hate his guts. Gigantic ego. Idiot agent. Huge entourage of assorted hangers-on. He is talented but not so productive that we should want anything to do with his baggage.

Some of the center halves we have been linked with:

LCB:
Rojo - 15-30m / 100-120 per week. Good size and speed, snide (possibly too much). Some experience with current manager. May view us as a step backward.
Mee - 25-35m / 85-105 per week. Played with Keane before, and seemingly made him better. Not sure if he can play a higher line. Could be product of Dyche’s system rather than true quality.
Hinteregger - 15-20m / 50-70 per week. Decent size, but should be able to play higher line. Good passer and can occasionally score a worldly. Would likely view us as a continued upward progression of his career.
Gibson - 15-25m / 60-80 per week. Probably solid defender with limited upside, but also unlikely to completely flop. Not sure he fits Silva system. Good attitude and team player. Would view us as a step up.

RCB:
Mina - 25-35m / 90-110 per week. Mammoth of a man, with excellent strength and jumping ability. Massive potential, but unproven at a club level. Would view us as a regression.
Zouma - 20-25m / 70-90 per week. Experience in league. Can play high line. Physically impressive. Could be available to loan, which reduces outlay. Should view us as a step up vs. last loan option.
Mbodji - 10-15m - 50-70 per week. Physically imposing. Should be able to play high line. Been playing in a lesser league so may not be able to acclimate immediately. Would view us as a step forward career wise.

We need 2 CB signed. We need them to be starting quality, and we need to not be stuck with an expensive, high wage player that we just try to sell in 12 months.

Help us Marcel Brands, you’re our only hope.
