I've had a bad hip injury meaning I can't kick properly with my right foot. Over the last two years I've been using my left and it's 10x better than it used to be.

That's with me not being a professional or playing football every day.

If you are a professional footballer you should be able to use your opposite foot... I'm not saying it should be accurate or as good as your normal foot. But you should definitely be confident on it.

Unlike cuco.

Skill is in the brain. Once you’ve learned something for the right foot - it’s easier to do it on the left. It’s not like these players don’t have enough time to adapt.
Barkley is a good example, right footed then broke his leg, worked so much on his left he could shoot equally well with both. It can be done just requires consistent practice

At £15m, Ben Gibson is worth the risk. We should match Burnley's offer. Get him in and then one of Mina or Lascelles.
No we shouldn’t. The Burnley manager knows what he is doing, he buys players who fit in with his defensive system. That’s why Gibson will do well for them, that’s why Keane did well for them. We are going to be playing a completely different system to Burnley which won’t suit Gibson. First rule of signing players get ones that can play well in the system you want to play.

And is why Keane is such a liability for us.

Irrespective of our business conducted this week, I’m still disappointed with this window. Brands/Silva have been in their positions since beginning of June and while I’m delighted with our signings so far, both young talented players with their best years ahead of them, the thought of starting next week with the thought of a Keane/Jags defensive pairing and scherderlin in midfield is a sobering thought. We have wasted far too much time and interest in Mina, he should have been given an ultimatum at least 2 weeks ago, but equally concerning is the apparent lack of interest in central midfielders. I know people will argue that city, united, spurs have barely bought anyone, but their squads didn’t require the major overhaul our current squad does. Let’s hope there is some serious movement on the transfer front this week.

Lo
Obviously every player should be evaluated separately but the similarities really are there and we should be careful not to make the mistake again. That mistake being confusing a deep lying defensive system that takes a lot of pressure off the central defenders for actual good center back play. Boro under Karanka played as deep as possible and that was Gibson's premier league experience so I have my doubts about him playing higher up just like Keane has struggled with

Love posts like this, someone who actually knows what they are on about

...on this day in 1975, I started a summer holiday job in the Civil Service and retired 41 years later. It just shows, you don’t know what’s around the corner. Talking of which, here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for this Saturday morning;

- Everton have confirmed the signing of 18 year old Portugal youth international goalkeeper, Joao Virginia, from Arsenal. The club also report Left Back, Antonee Robinson agreed a new 3 year contract before joining Wigan on loan.

- According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are poised to end their pursuit of Barcelona Centre Back, Yerry Mina, as the price being asked for the Columbian international is far too expensive.

- The Northern Echo report Everton will go all out to sign Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles. The Toffees are preparing a £30m bid but Newcastle want closer to £50m for the 24 year old.

- Sky Sports say Everton are considering a £3m bid for West Ham’s 19 year old defender, Reece Oxford. The youngster is back at West Ham after a period on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

- Sportskeeda suggest Everton are expected to complete the £3m transfer of Sporting’s 21 year old midfielder, Pedro Delgado in coming days.

- The Daily Mirror report PSG are targeting Manchester United defender, Marcos Rojo. The 28 year old Argentinian international has been interesting Everton.

- According to Stoke-on-Trent Live, Gary Rowett wants to keep hold of midfielder, Badou N’Diaye and insists he’s not part of the deal that brought Ashley Williams to Stoke.

- Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, took to his Twitter account to announce Fiorentina are close to signing Everton midfielder Kevin Mirallas. The deal is reported to be a £500k loan with a £7m option to buy.

- Sky Sports report Middlesborough have agreed a £15m deal with Burnley for Centre Back, Ben Gibson. Everton have been linked with the defender.

- Brazilian website UOL, say Gremio have rejected a £4m offer from an Italian side for Centre Half, Walter Kannemann and have offered the Argentinian a new contract. Everton are not mentioned as being involved.
