A big no to that Shaq from me. He chose Stoke over us, he's very inconsistent and wouldn't be able to play a pressing style. Plus he strikes me as an absolute weapon.

Nobody chooses Stoke over Everton. We were only interested in loaning him, whereas Stoke were willing to buy him and give him a five year deal. We didn't sign him because we didn't want to at the time.

Xherdan Shaqiri has been offered to Liverpool and Everton as his representatives look to find him a Premier League club.

The Swiss winger was part of the Stoke City side relegated last season and has been clear about his plans to exercise a relegation release clause written into his contract with the Potters.

The 26-year-old spent three years with Stoke in which they twice finished as a top-half team before last year’s capitulation. Southampton and West Ham are also aware of the wideman’s situation but know that Shaqiri would prefer to remain in the north-west to avoid moving homes.

He may have little choice, with clubs on the continent baulking at his wage demands of over £100k per week.

Neither Liverpool nor Everton would struggle to find the £12m fee needed to keep Shaqiri in the Premier League, so much will depend on the player’s ambitions and how he fits into the plans of the two clubs.

The Reds are keen on Lyon star Nabil Fekir and have won over the player, though they face a tough negotiation with the club’s notorious president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Everton are looking to trim their bloated squad before adding some ‘big names’, according to new boss Marco Silva.

Sporting director Marcel Brands is renowned for his talent-spotting and his scouting department are hoping to find some diamonds in the rough this summer but equally there is an appreciation that a player like Shaqiri - proven in the top flight - rarely comes to market at such an affordable price.

We can give them the £12m, but
Make them take Mirallas, Garbutt and Galloway, then we have a deal

Would love for Stoke to be stuck with Shaqiri and his wages after their fans were giving it large to us about being such a massive club, much bigger than ours, when he signed.

I’d like Shaqiri.

Deal with me.

Lozano and shaqiri in, Bolasie, mirallas and Sandro out with maybe dowell out as well, at least on loan... As well as vlasic out on loan - that's a good upgrade and a gain in wages + trimming.

Easy

... Oh wait, now we have to find teams to buy our players, ffs.

Shaqiri kinda picks his games when he wants to play well.

Most games he looks disinterested and lazy, then one game out of 25 he looks mercurial and a dangerous player,i remember the worldie he scored at Goodison a couple of seasons ago and those 5-6 goals he scored in the world cup.

Such a frustrating player as he has the attributes to be a world beater in his locker but sadly he uses those attributes about 2 games a season.

Hence why he was at Stoke.

Now Silva has said he’ll be playing a 4-3-3 we can look at players that will suit the system. It’s ideal for Walcott and Lookman should fit in nicely on the left side attaching role. Lazano would fit in nicely too

seen the Echo tweet it but has now gone...

either they f'd up, and it was meant to be an embargo bit, or they (or someone else) made them up

Echo 'Trends Writers' citing Sport Witness yet again. Lord, take me now.
