Lashing any money at a 30 year old manager favourite would just be an immediate return to the Moshiri era. We surely have to have learned from history.

Unfortunately, I can see Moyes favouring the same qualities that he does in Doucs that he does in Soucek. They're both effective footballers in the final third albeit devoid of any technical ability. I'd lean slightly in favour of Soucek, actually, which in a funny way would make him an upgrade. Not the upgrade we want, obviously.

I would hope that the recruitment is smart , some for now and some for the future with a resale value.

I actually think that Soucek is a far superior player to Doucoure but I would have hoped that an attacking midfielder would be more mobile , quicker and a better footballer to enable us to play more progressively.

I don't think Soucek is a bad player , just that we could do better .

If and it's a big if Moyes wanted him it would have to at the expense of Doucoure.

Agree, but we also need a squad of players that doesn't require us having a bench of goalies and untested youths. This summer will be a fine balancing act between strengthening the 11 and strengthening the squad

Sure but the balance has to be investing money in the younger players and trying to get in veterans cheap or for free. A similar policy to we've had under Thelwell- we can argue over individual signings but the policy has been correct.

Soucek would not be cheap and the money spent would not be an investment.

Soucek is a fine player, but buying 30 year olds with large fees and wages is exactly how we got into this mess. If this is Moyes plan (and it's just a rumor) he'll lose my support rather quickly.

If Dyche was still in charge I'd have said 12 players minimum.
Now that Moyes is back I think we need 4-5.

Not sure how reliable this West Ham ITK is, but these persistent links are very underwhelming. Not the kind of player we should be going for this summer.

For my part, not really fuming. Just saying that if this is the direction that we are going in that I will be disappointed. With new owners, new stadium and players out of contract this is such an opportunity to redefine ourselves. I hope we take it.

Ok...not so much fuming.

But it seems mad to take to twitter to remonstrate over 3 rumours that have probably got absolutely no truth to them.

He's also mentioned that we're a week post Thelwell...he's still at the club ha

It's the type of tweet most Blues who love fuming at club,will pick up on.
