Summer transfer speculative hopes and dreams

Thing with Coleman, and he's a United supporter he may see this is his last chance of them showing an interest and may want to play for his boyhood club. As we all know, there is no loyalty in football and with them being in the Champions League may decide now is the time to leave. I wouldn't hold a grudge against him, just make sure we get good money. Shame Montoya has gone on loan to Inter.
There's more to life than playing for that bunch of morons. He must have learnt that by now.

vorm wasnt traded to swamse
It could've all turned out so different, but if a man has marital problems and his kid's permanently in Alder Hey Hospital, it's going to affect him mentally - it would me.

One of those what might have beens.
used to talk to a person who sort of worked with the everton staff at the time of van der meyde being here.

Apparently he was the best technically gifted player we had for years, *in training* said everything just came easy to him, could take people on, had the best shot on him, could pick a pass from no where.

Players / manager / coaches were absolutely made up with him in his first few weeks of training, then he got a injury... then his daughter got ill... then he turned to ale. Sad really.

edit -

to add to that, after his first season he put on a lot of weight due to the ale, but there was a point i think it might have been 2008, where he really sorted his life out and got really fit in pre-season, he was flying apparently, and then he had a very good pre-season game against nottingham forest i believe, but got injured in that match, which again was a shame because apparently the staff thought that'd be his season, and he could make a proper impact was going to be brought back into first team fold.

Done his hamstring if memory serves me correctly that game and Jose Baxter scored an absolute pearler that game. Worth finding on YouTube of you ain't seen it before

any thoughts on Dieumerci Mbokani?
either FIFA mentalist or actual proper footballing knowledge?

Seems to be exactly the sort of Striker (big fast strong) that Roberto would go for and being at Dinamo Kiev who are both strapped for the cash and have the entire Putin/warzone thing hanging over their heads.

Could be available for £4M-£5M would look to be a no-brainer if we had the funds and were looking for someone to really help Rom out

We've been linked with him just about every window I can remember.

Not the best scoring record if I remember rightly.

Coleman leaving makes sense, why would he not want that step up now ??? Peak age, and gave us great service.

On the Coleman situation - we don't need to sell and we don't want to sell. If the player wants to go and they want him enough, we should hold out for a very very extortionate price. Around £40m or he stays.

Not for sale but everyone has their price if someone is daft enough to pay it.

Let's be honest, there's no way we'll get that sort of money

If Coleman tells us he wants to go, we'll do well to get over £20m

I'd love us to be looking at Valentin Stocker from Hertha. Only signed for them last summer from Basel, had a pretty poor time of it up until February, then really kicked on and was key to them avoiding a relegation scrap.

Plays predominately on the left, but also behind the striker. Basically a younger version of Pienaar. A really good passer and links play really well. Hertha only paid €5mil for him last year, and they're not the wealthiest of clubs. Really think he's the type of player we should be looking at - 4 goals and 9 assists in all competitions last season. Would prefer Mertens of course, but I'm just putting Stocker out there as the type of player I think RM will be looking at - or should be at least - for the 'playmaker' role.
