We seem to have a decent knack for jinxing players who publically scorn us. I remember Bougherra picking Charlton over us and coming out with some rubbish about their ambition only for McFadden to then lob him as we secured Europa and they started their decline.
A whole host of players in the Moyes era picked West Ham or Newcastle over us and achieved nothing but relegation whilst we played in Europe.

Decent apparently that Kalinic.

He's a very good keeper, but they'd never let him leave (except maybe for overly inflated transfer sums). They've been really struggling attracting a decent goalkeeper which cost them loads of points in the first half of the season. He came in; he single handedly made them win matches. In half a season he won goalkeeper of the year. Note though; one of their previous keepers was also a good keeper (Sels), got transferred to Newcastle, and played extremely bad there; everything he was good at he suddenly couldn't do any more. Couldn't cope with the stress and apparently at the start of it all he was already faced with angry Newcastle supporters who were angry that he came in because they felt this was a betrayal to Darlow. Hope he's able to go to another club where he can find himself again.

Dead right. Sissoko had a great Euros and a dreadful year at Newcastle. He clearly played Spurs off against EFC and nabbed a big contract.

The worrying thing for me is that RK thought he was good and was willing to buy him. It would have been the Niasse Disaster x 3.
