You wouldn't take £70m and a ~£35m striker? If he really was going to go?

Remember if we get just money we're not going to get it all in one installment and we need to then go out and buy a couple of strikers.

He hasn't been prolific in terms of goals scored but his goals per minute is pretty decent for his first year in England. Performed well in Belgium and France as well.

Jury's out for me mate. 6 of those goals have either come against lower league opposition in the cups or for their under 23 side.

He had a decent season last year for Marseille but not what I would call prolific in an inferior league. I was surprised that Chelsea paid so much for him in the summer and obviously Conte doesn't fancy him as he's played Hazard in a more forward role when Costa wasn't available.

I'm not saying he doesn't have it in him to succeed in Premier mate, but unlike other options we may have, he's never been prolific at lower levels, and 587 minutes football this season when the clocks have already gone forward suggests he is not held in high regard at Chelsea.

To be fair to the lad I've never really seen him play much and I'd have to trust in Walsh/Koeman's judgement if we were after him.

Yeh I'm not saying he's my ideal signing but I think £70m + a player like him with potential and similar attributes is a good deal in today's market. Especially considering some here would accept £65m cash.

Plus I wouldn't say 17 goals and 9 assists is a bad return last season for a really crap Marseille team.

£70m + player is a different ball game. The figures I saw were £40m + player, which basically means they'll be recouping their £30m+ outlay on him, and I think we can do better for that amount of money.

I did say he had a decent final year at Marseille, just not prolific. I don't think it was a £30m+ year though.
 

Very concerning that we could be without Lukaku, Barkley and Coleman from the starting 11 next season. We need atleast one of Rom or Ross to sign a new deal and hope Moshiri gives Koeman the funds to reshape the squad.

Christensen is contracted to Chelsea and they rate him highly, even wanted to cancel his loan this season but couldn't cos they wanted him back and in the mix.

I remember Martinez wanted Vestergaard from Bremen a couple of seasons ago but not sure how genuine the interest was?!...

Aye apparently Conte was annoyed as hell that they hadn't inserted a recall option into that loan, they may buy another cb this summer but that lad will 100% be in the mix for them
 

£70m + batscu.... (yeah, I'm not even going to try spelling that correctly), didn't mean he'd be lukakus replacement, we'd have £70m to try and buy his goals outlay with.

The lad would just need a chance. Like Batshuayi, Lukaku came from a weaker league that he'd scored goals in and then got minimum chances at Chelsea and didn't even score for them but got moves away and proved himself.

In time Batshuayi might prove to be a good goalscorer?!

What is everyone's thinking on Lukaku? Is he staying or going?!....
