Player Valuation: £100m
been on holiday for a week, what was with the paper rumour about carlos bacca being looked at? Just jarg? I'm a big fan of him.
Hmm ... negotiated from 50m down to 20m. I doubt it.
I was gonna say he's classic Walsh, fits that mould that he was always on the look out for at Leicester - a misfit in dire need of redemption that can be polished up to fulfil previously undelivered potential (Vardy, Mahrez, Kante etc.), that looks an unimpressive buy till he clicks with the right players round him. It's the price that's masking all that. Don't get me wrong, might still turn out a bad 'un, but my guess is Walsh thinks he'll fit and Koeman must have been watched him and been convinced he'll put a shift in.
Yet he doesn't get into the England squad.
It was our supposed stated asking price. What I am saying is there is no way we negotiate a fee half of what we start the discussions at.Surely we won't get 50m with one year left on his contract?
Niang next and then we're on to Mike Keane.
Maybe waiting for 1st July when he's officially a free agent?
Everton: Klaassen, Pickford and maybe maybe Niang
Liverpool: Solanke a 19 year auld from Chelsea![]()
He sounds like Ballotelli mk2...FWIW on Niang.
Having actually watched Milan a fair few times over the past two seasons, I've seen a fair bit of him.
The lad has a lot of talent. An abundance, actually, and when he's on his game he's a real threat. Pace, power, and makes a general nuisance of himself.
Consistency is his issue. I'm not privvy on his attitude so who knows if that's why, but he could never seem to string more than 2 or 3 decent performances together.
However, I do think he fits the mould in terms of a player who can play anywhere across the frontline and is young.
I'm on the fence about Niang. I'd have liked better, and I reckon Keita may well have been the first target, but we've moved quickly to get him in and I trust Walsh and Koeman's judgement on this one.
