Summer Transfer Window 2017

I was gonna say he's classic Walsh, fits that mould that he was always on the look out for at Leicester - a misfit in dire need of redemption that can be polished up to fulfil previously undelivered potential (Vardy, Mahrez, Kante etc.), that looks an unimpressive buy till he clicks with the right players round him. It's the price that's masking all that. Don't get me wrong, might still turn out a bad 'un, but my guess is Walsh thinks he'll fit and Koeman must have been watched him and been convinced he'll put a shift in.

Koeman doesn't strike me as an arm around the shoulder type manager (Ross). Hope Walsh has factored that in.

I think we will finally have a squad to rival the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Man Utd at the beginning of next season. Top 4 challenge is very much on.

"If we can do he business we want to do this summer, the team for next season will be really strong, I believe" - Ronald Koeman

FWIW on Niang.

Having actually watched Milan a fair few times over the past two seasons, I've seen a fair bit of him.

The lad has a lot of talent. An abundance, actually, and when he's on his game he's a real threat. Pace, power, and makes a general nuisance of himself.

Consistency is his issue. I'm not privvy on his attitude so who knows if that's why, but he could never seem to string more than 2 or 3 decent performances together.

However, I do think he fits the mould in terms of a player who can play anywhere across the frontline and is young.

I'm on the fence about Niang. I'd have liked better, and I reckon Keita may well have been the first target, but we've moved quickly to get him in and I trust Walsh and Koeman's judgement on this one.
He sounds like Ballotelli mk2...
