Everton have raced out of the transfer blocks this summer, making three signings in the blink of an eye.

Jordan Pickford has arrived from Sunderland, Davy Klaassen has come from Ajax and Sandro Ramirez will soon complete his deal from Malaga as Ronald Koeman begins to spend a vast war chest.

Here, Sportsmail's DOMINIC KING assesses business so far, what's still to come and who is in charge of putting together the Toffees' recruitment drive.

What is the budget?

Everton are committed to spending well over £100million in a window for the first time in their history. Farhad Moshiri, the major investor, has made it clear that he wants to see Everton challenge for a Champions League place and they won't be scrimping and saving to reach that objective.

Clubs, of course, have never been so wealthy, given the money they receive from TV payments, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will all go towards player recruitment.

Moshiri got the manager he wanted last summer in Ronald Koeman and now he wants his manager to have the resources to turn ambition into reality.

Who are the remaining targets and what is the likelihood of getting them?

The prime objectives are Burnley defender Michael Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson, the Swansea playmaker, plus another striker. Keane looked to be heading to Manchester United but that possibility ended and now Everton are ready to offer him that platform.

Koeman is a fan of Keane and spoke positively about him before Burnley played at Goodison Park last season – much to Sean Dyche's displeasure – but the likelihood is he will move to Merseyside.

There is still work to be done before any deal is concluded but talks are ongoing. With Sigurdsson, it is probably going to take a club-record offer to lever him away from South Wales but Koeman wanted him 12 months ago and his interest has not gone away.

The obstacles confronting a move for Sigurdsson are Swansea's reluctance to sell plus interest from Leicester. In terms of another forward, Everton had been interested in Willian Jose of Real Sociedad but have subsequently gone cool on a £28m move for the Brazilian.

Who are the people doing the deals?

The man taking the lead is Steve Walsh, the director of football. On this day 12 months ago, chairman Bill Kenwright explained the reasons behind why he felt it was important that Everton appointed someone to that new position, saying: 'What I have picked up in the last four weeks is it is an important role and if done right it can add to a football club.'

Before that, Kenwright had been the man responsible for doing Everton's deals, working in tandem with previous managers David Moyes and Roberto Martinez.

Kenwright remains involved in negotiations particularly when it comes to structuring the fees the club are paying and what they receive but Walsh has helped ease the burden, examples being how he met with Real Sociedad's officials to discuss Willian Jose, his negotiations with Sandro Ramirez's representatives and how he flew to Milan to discuss targets last week.

Who could go?

One thing for certain is that it won't just be players coming in this summer. The biggest questions revolve around Romelu Lukaku, who has his heart set on a move to Chelsea.

He will not sign a new contract and wants to go to Stamford Bridge but unless they are prepared to pay the £100m that Everton have intimated they want, Lukaku will not be going anywhere. As was the case 12 months ago, there has been no official approach from Chelsea for Lukaku.

Another with questions is Ross Barkley but his situation is even more complicated. Everton want £50m for the England international but nobody has shown an inclination to pay that. Barkley will not sign a new contract, that much is clear.

Other players leaving will include Gerard Deulofeu, who is set to return to Barcelona for £10m. It remains to be seen, too, if there are any approaches for players such as Mo Besic, James McCarthy and Aidan McGeady. Maarten Stekelenburg could also be vulnerable.

How's it going so far?

You cannot fault what Everton have done so far. The club record signing of Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m was swiftly followed up by the £25m capture of Ajax's Davy Klaassen, a player whom Ronald Koeman believes will add goals to Everton's midfield.

Sandro Ramirez's £5m move from Malaga will also be made official in the coming days. Everton have made a statement of intent and their ambition cannot be faulted. They made a mess of things last summer, with Koeman and Walsh starting late, and there was no structure.

The final day of the window, which included the botched bid for Moussa Sissoko and a late attempt to land Andriy Yarmolenko from Dynamo Kiev, was chaotic but there will be no repeats this time. For that reason, they have been awarded 9/10.

Mr King sounds very certain about Sandro; no ifs buts or maybes there...

Interesting that he's saying Chelsea haven't even made an official bid yet.

For the CB, I would really like us to be in for Blind tbh, if there's a sniff of him leaving Utd, as I reckon you kill two birds with one stone there in terms of a 'ball playing' CB and LB cover.

I watch a fair bit of Man United and if we could get Blind cheapish it would be great for extra cover at the back. He's far from the best, but he's very consistent.

Don't think we'd need anything for Schneiderlin mate.

Gana, Besic, Barry, McCarthy, Davies, MS and Klaassen all on the books for midfield.

Even if McCarthy leaves, we'd have more than enough cover there.

Agree with the others.

I'd be super happy with Blind, if Schneiderlin is missing he can step into that role, calm head and decent on the ball if played CB and an option at LB. As part of a back 3 he would be superb.

According to Sky Banega wants out. Walshy was over talking to Inter.......one never knows. Bet he would cost half of what Gylfi does.

Blind is a proper utility player and i think a good locker room presence. For the right fee he would be a solid addition.

We've just bought klassen, IF sigurdsson was a target it'd be for a wide forward spot, Banega is an out and out central player

How old is Banega now?

I really wanted him based on pure YouTube last time with the whole work permit debacle, but when i've seen him a couple of times last season he's not that exciting these days.
