Please don't publish links to that publication - it's been very dishonest in the past. They had journos sign up, pretending to be Everton fans to spam their links. Had a word, was assured they'd stop - they didn't, so we blacklisted it.

Don't think they have one actual journalist working for them actually mate tbf ;)

Any ideas where our pace will come from? Those signed and most commonly rumored (Klaassen, Sandro, Gylfi) are not exactly burners. We don't need a team of speed merchants, but surely one or two with pace are required... (don't say Bolaise - he may not play til 2018 if at all next year).

Have always wondered how important pace is on the pitch, while I can understand pace having the potential to create mistakes from the opposition, to me, having players who pass the ball quickly, and move intelligently to open up space (something we have sorely lacked in) is more important and dangerous.

Unless we're talking about FIFA..

No, you make a fair point and i think the idea is Klaassen can help with that. Never hurts to have a little speed somewhere though. If you get the ball into space you want to have someone who can be first man to it.

..if the rumours are right, we had a big bid for Balde turned down by the player which is a real disappointment because he looks pacy and very decent. Klaassen isn't fast but I reckon he moves the ball quickly which could set us up nicely if we get the type you sugggest.

Ajax kind of play with one very fast wide player and one wide player who is more a wide/attacking midfielder almost - both of whom like to drift inside, and it worked very well with Klassen in the team linking play

Part of me hopes we do similar - as it kind of is what Koeman has done in the past himself.

a Balde/Gelson Martins type and on the other side a Tadic/Sigurdsson/Ziyech (Maybe Sandro)type, with a central striker who can hold the ball up and is good at linking play up (Dolberg *cough)

Strangely enough if the entire front positions have great movement and interplay together - you don't actually need the mythical playmaker at all

Case in point - the Everton side of the 80's - unless my memory really fails me, we never relied on any one player to be that orchestrator - which actually made the team amazingly difficult to stop in any game as it was not dependant on that one individual player
