Summer Transfer Window 2017

The general good mood has dicipated last few days.

In light of the business managed early, we acted swiftly and brought in a few players who can add to the core strength we blended into the squad last year (a new midfield) this alone will be a great platform for the new faces to fit around.

I personally feel Koeman and his team did remarkably well bringing in decent players early. The focus now will be the game Thursday - Once over we can look at how the window shapes up, no doubt a few deals will open up once more teams start trading (noteably the CL teams) and we will have the luxury of needing a few players and will be a good option for them and them to us.

Seen a comments about needing such a player here and there. I have every confidence in getting different players in, already we have a more fluid team with players looking like they will compliment each other and despite what people have said, they largely have a bit of passion about them, which couldn't be said about Lukaku or Barkley.

Soz for the essay, let's just have a bit of faith. Window is still open.

We did business early with the signings who are available early. The signings we want now are from teams that don't want to sell or think they will get a better price closer to the deadline. No matter who we try to buy now it will take a while and be a hassle for sure.

Sigurdsson
Van Dijk
Batshuayi

That's our lot.......
Out of the three of those Siggurdson is the only one we have a chance of getting. Heck he may be locked up now.

Van Dijk is most likely going to RS, There has been no mention of us even looking at him.

Bats likes where he is at with his Chelsea wages and being the number two option (for some reason). He would be nice to have but I feel as though he would see us as a stepping stone and I for one am such and tired of players on our team like that. We can't build a top 4 challenging team if we keep having players like that.

I feel that any targets that are presently on our radar we'll be able to wrap them up (Sigurdsson), if not I suspect others will become available. Seems to be a real shortage of decent LB/LWB at this time, not slating Baines, would just like more options.,

The fans are noticing the weaknesses and Koeman et al have been ruthless in strengthening what we were all so critical of under Martinez and before him.

I feel he'll know the weaknesses and work to get them all in, if they don't materialise we just have to use the squad we have until Jan, no point buying plop for the sake of it.

All the signings so far have an element of preparedness about them, all considered - We could make an expensive mistake (ala Sissoko) if we rush.

If we went into the season as we are now, I won't be happy as feel there can be more improvements. I will be content, just feel there is much more that can and will be done.

We are really close to having a top notch squad. We've done great business so far replaced all the dead wood with youth and potential or genuine quality. We still need a striker, creative player and a defender ideally someone who can play left cb and left back and that will be a quality squad to go into the season with. It's still early doors yet and we've done a lot of good stuff so far so fingers crossed it continues and we start the season stronger than we ended last which at the moment looks nailed on.

I agree completely. We will get that creative player in Sigurdsson, who in my opinion is the most underrated player in the league and will be a brilliant signing for us.

Not sure about the defender, but if reports are true we lodged that bid for the Las Palmas one a few weeks ago, and I'm quite sure we'll get another CB too. I hope Connolly is good enough to play LB in the rare case Baines goes out injured, although as this is a side led by Koeman I highly doubt long term injuries will emerge.

I don't think we'll get another striker.

we've done business with Zurich before with Tarashji

Slimani is a strange one as when I've seen him play he doesn't seem to be a 15+ goal a season player and his link up play could be better. Walsh obviously sees a player there somewhere.
