Pace is the current topic of conversation, by no means am I obsessed by it.

In fact I've championed Rooney returning for ages. He has no pace. I just think it's an area we need to address to help the team to be able to play counter attacking football & to stretch teams.

No net pace is the new net spend. We are currently in negative net pace and need to move into positive net pace.

FWIW we have speed merchants that are as good as any team when all fit and firing..Coleman , Bolasie , Baines & Mirallas not to mention Sandro Ramirez or even Aaron Lennon.They're all rapid.
So lets just put this to bed eh.

We do need to move the ball faster, watching us on Thursday Klaassen was the only one who didnt take 5 touches before passing. As for pace, the lack of it worries me more at the back than upfront.

It's a pretty dire situation but no doubt Bolt could move us into positive net pace at a stroke.

pace can be a handy tool yes, but if you look at players like raheem sterling, the pace is a bit mute if they crap their pants and don't know what to do with the football. All in all, you can have the fastest wingers in the world, if they're up against a full back who's nearly as quick, but always positions themselves well so they can get a good enough headstart, then it's cancelled out.

the great barca team of the last few years didn't have mass pace, they just moved the ball so quickly that defenders couldn't cope.

Bolasie is out to Christmas and Coleman longer than that. Mirallas (he´s not slow but I wouldn´t say he was particularly quick either) and Baines don´t have pace. Lennon has no final ball.

Think we´re gonna get found out if we don´t add pace myself.
