We badly need a playmaker and a pacy attacker based on pre season. We have never replaced Pienaar and Arteta (even Osman). Barkley was our only ball player last year. Morgan, Gana and Davy is not a good blend as none of them are good enough on the ball.

I'm sorry, hope I am wrong, it certainly isn't wise to put that much pressure on DCL, would love an old head in the team who can mentor him for the TM role. Realise we've got Dunc, but someone who can show him the way on the pitch.

Would have him here but not sure we have that much to spend (after 45-50 on Gylfi and surely at least 10 on a defender...)

Honestly, move him. Sell McCarthy, and go get Dendoncker for both cover at CB AND for Morgan and even Klassen. Davies can be cover for Gana and Klassen as well as RB. Besic is there for depth, still.

I just think Dendoncker has a chance at being a truly elite midfielders and if we can grab him, we should do it.
