Summer Transfer Window 2017

With all these silly transfer fees lately? I now think we sold Lukaku on the cheap.
Maybe but problem is he was so open about wanting to go, and not siging another contract. if he had done what Coutinho has done and said nowt, or signed extensions like Siggy and VVD it might of pushed the price up, besides there only seemed to be one club who wanted him and that didnt help. Lukaku let us down, I guess it might turn out to be cheap but it was all we could get

He had 2 years left on contract and we are not desperate for cash (supposedly) - we could have played hard ball like Swansea with us over Sig.

https://sofifa.com/player/202428... Wood isn't a bad target man. Technical, strong, combative, clinical finisher with either foot. Had terrible knee problems as a teen so just coming into his own. Would cost about $15 million (US) so not too bad. Give us that combative hard-working center forward

I think lukakus sale will come back to haunt us. 75m plus 10 m in add ons too cheap (man u managed to persuade us that Rooney was worth 15m to make it '100m' . Plus we didn't have a replacement lined up. Plus we sold him to a direct competitor for a top 5-6 spot.
But it was the only way we could get close to Daveks "net spend" he keeps talking about. I heard Kenwright was desperate to hit Davek's target, so he told them to shave off 10 million off the price.

As a fellow Yank, just no. If Wood came to the Premier League, it would be for a Watford like club. Maybe Swansea and their owners will splurge if they ever take the money for Sigurdsson.
Other than Pulisic and maybe John Brooks. Which would work if Mori was swapped out so people could have a new left footed, athletic but erratic Western Hemisphere CB to boo. There isn't really an American who fits what is trying to be done here. I guess trying to convince Josh Sargent to join Unsworth's U23s over some German side would work too.
