People should realise by now that the striker Koeman wants is a very specific type. It's why when you see links to Dembele etc, you know there's probably nothing in them.
He wants a target man. A strong physical presence, ideally good in the air, who can play as a focal point and bring Rooney, Sandro and Klaassen into the game. Giroud was clearly the 1st choice, Benteke probably 2nd choice. It may be that we're down to our 3rd choice on the list which could be Kalinic. I've not seen much of him in Italy, but I hear that he has improved significantly from when he flopped at Blackburn (TBF that was 6 years ago). I'd hope he's had a look at Jorgensen from Feyenoord - maybe more of a gamble though, given the league he plays in, but he looks ideal for that kind of role.
Sigurdsson may complete sooner rather than later, but this striker thing I think will drag out as Koeman won't want to give up on Giroud until it's definitely not happening. Risky game that, though.

Benteke is a ridiculous call, the bloke cant move and Palace would want insane money for him

Benteke wouldn't be my choice, but his stats are miles ahead of everyone else as far as aerial stuff is concerned and the role he would be required to fill here probably wouldn't necessarily mean him running around loads. As a focal point, he could probably stay within the width of the 18 yard box most of the time.
Kalinic - I'll have to take your word for that. Milan have been linked with him all summer as well as their 2nd choice to Belotti. Can't say I've watched much of him in Italy, or if I have, I haven't really paid any attention to him.
Jorgensen - I like him. There's something about him which I think would transfer well over here. Really deft touch for such a big guy, and equally happy running into channels. He's not on Giroud's level, but if we got closer to the end of the window and we'd missed out on other targets, I wouldn't mind us taking a chance on him.
Who (over the age of 14) would you have in mind as our new centre forward, Zatman?
