Imagine if we can bring in a star striker whom the football world sees as being "above" our current level.

Dream scenario would be Mandzukic. Giroud would have been perfect for the role too but that looks a dead deal. Dzeko is another who's proven in the league and a great target man.

Realistically, maybe we go back in for Bas Dost? The lad is a mountain and has scored everywhere he's been.

Mandzukic would be immense. I'm sure there would be a fair few clubs interested if he was available though. A top striker and another top centre back and we are in business. If he doesn't go for left back cover I'm assuming he will look at keeping Connolly. Hopefully Robinson pushes on as well on loan as I was really impressed with him last season.

Agreed. I'd like us to get another CB in because it feels like a massive weak link for us right now. Keane is great, but he needs someone to build a partnership with.

Agreed mate, a top centre back would be great. Jags and Williams can still do a job no problem at all becsuse we've got loads of games coming up ( all being well ) but I'd be very happy with someone to compliment Keane who has massively impressed me so far. I thought from what I had seen last season Gibson of Boro looked the better bet it so far so good with Keane.
 

What do you think happens to Costa since he is only wanting Athletico and they have the transfer ban this year? maybe they would part with Correa?

He got limited chance last season at Leicester. Leicester also signed the Citch reserve striker for £25m two weeks ago. Also think Walsh scouted Slamini while he worked for his previous club.

Costa will need 2-3 months of a weight loss program before he is up to speed. He would then leave for Atletico in January. Not worth it. Plus he could ruin the dressing room vibes.
