There is absolutely no chance of it happening but unless I've completely got Everton and it's fanbase wrong over the last four decades and the match day company I keep isn't indicative of the average Evertonian he would be absolutely worshipped here .

In my opinion Costa would be absolutely adored by the vast majority of the fans . As I say I don't think there is remotely a chance of it happening but a goalscoring snide who winds up the opposition , is hated by just about everyone, is a proper nasty piece of work but can really play would be loved here.

That's the point I was cack-handedly trying to make about Costa, if he played for us, he'd be our thug and most would love him for it.

We've strengthened the spine of the team, and although the loss of Lukaku will probably hit us in the balls, I can't help feeling the overall shape of the team is the best it's been in years.

He wasn't always crap & I meant baines is crap very much tongue in cheek. Simple fact is at one point Shaw was deemed good enough for Man Utd & if his injury hasn't finished him & we could get him back to full fitness whilst using baines to cushion the immediate need then why not.

We tried for baba Rahman then kolsanaic but now want a centre half who can do both. Strategy isn't exactly clear there we need both positions
