Keane is good enough to play for England (and receive many plaudits in the process) and being linked with Man Utd and Liverpool. But he isn't good enough for us. He isn't as good as VVD I agree but I'd still like to see us go for them both. There wouldn't be a better CB partnership in the premier.
Koeman in my opinion won't sign 2 CH this summer
As much as we would all like it to happen it won't.
He bought Williams and any new CH will block Holgate ,Galloway Pennington making the step up to the first team.
I think Koeman would rather give academy players a chance than signing 2 established CH with 8/10 years ahead of them

United don't want or need Keane
Conceding goals is not their problem this season
The RS on the other hand have been linked to 8 GK 15 FB and 25 CHsince January.

Yeah, I don't think we need two just yet, think we need one ourstanding centre back and another in two years time when hopefully our profile will be bigger. I think we may actually go for two though. I can't see the calibre of keane/Gibson/Maguire being the only centre back we're in for seeing as we tried to pay £60m for koulibaly and a similar fee for van dijk.

I really want us to sign 2 top notch centre backs and a keeper.

Keane and VVD would be the best in the league on paper....if we fail on one we go for Gimenez then others

City and Chelsea are after Messi
Manure want Neymar and Griezman
Doesn't mean they have a hope in hell
Same with Besiktas
More to appease their fans I'd say
If I am not mistaken, Mata will be in the last year of his contract come the summer. So, Besiktas must be thinking they have a chance, otherwise why spending time and effort?

To be honest I would rather we just went for one top drawer CB this summer, who is to say we bring two in at once and they don't "gel/click"?, add into the equation the potential for a new keeper, this is a crucial axis within any team, let the new fella ease his way in alongside Jags/Williams/Mori or whoever, give him a season, then bring another in.

what if the new signing doesn't gel/click with the ageing Jagielka, the average Williams or the shaky Mori?

Why buy 1 centre back when we need 2? I don't understand the logic that we should play any of the existing centre backs instead of signing much better players...

I know where you're coming from and by and large on the face of it I haven't been happy with our defence this season, however you can't argue with the statistics, by and large we are much, much more defensively sound, just saying I wouldn't totally throw the baby out with the bath water just yet!!
