But we haven't signed him yet. And if we did I don't think he'd be the worst option, though certainly not the best available.
I wanted him last Summer I think, theres certainly something to work with there, hes very decent in the air and can hold the ball up and we can play off him, I was harsh calling him terrible, hes not amazing, but he wouldnt be the worst choice.

Why haven't you included his 1 in 2 record for Villa over the course of 3 seasons mate? He is quite clearly a better goalscorer than Slimani.

Benteke hasn't been the same player since he ruptured his Achilles imo.
Benteke's passing is honestly one of the worst around. He's great at being a big lump and receiving/shielding the ball, yes, but his passing is tosh

All those advocating Benteke - John Salako interviewed couple of weeks ago about Palace, said the 1 player who seemed to be struggling to be mobile enough with the style of play De Boer was trying to install was...........yes you guessed it, Benteke.
Klopp was happy to let him go too, which also suggests lack of mobility as Klopp likes to play a high pressing game.
Torn on this one, as he can slot and that is proven. That is what we are looking for, but something about him screams a "No" to me.

Benteke is the better option, hes younger and hes "proven" in the league, but he would cost twice as much and he wouldnt score twice as many goals, so it makes "sense" to go for Islam.
Islam is available, Benteke isnt without breaking our transfer record.
