We're all concerned about getting a striker in that we're forgetting that one of Jagielka or Williams (or both) is a starting CB.

More holes in this squad than a sieve.

Not sure what kind of sieve you use but I count 3 holes. Striker LB and CB. A left footed CB could plug two of those

We'd need to get close enough to the opposition goal to get a set piece though, not something we're excelling at currently. There's also the fact he's only got into double figures once in his entire career but we'll skirt over that for now.

Wouldn't mind seeing his stats for headed goals compared to others in the premier. Might be better than you'd expect.

One thing i have learned the last few transfer windows is, not listen to these itk's

And how much stuff have the likes of wrd got wrong this summer? Alan myers' benteke stuff, theesk staying away from names as he got found out, dave seed not giving a name but saying we are 'in for a striker' covering all bases, dave downie with his dembele stuff?

Most people trying to appear ITK have a reason to be doing so, for certain individuals it's an ego thing, for others they have directly used that 'claim to fame' to further their ambitions - in media for the main, it's why the blue room should effectively be boycotted by Evertonians.

All the people working on that have bigged up themselves by using itk information that has been shown to be absolute lies, yet it got them noticed and enough gullible people who still believe they are connected or get information prior to others, to then allow others to give them the platform they crave.

They may be absolutely sound people irl, may even at the start have been well meaning before the buzz they received became like a drug, or maybe the penny dropped at the amount lapping up what they said and they realised they could use it to there advantage, but they took lots of Evertonians for a ride and directly benefited from those lies - and in some cases (if not all) have benefited financially from those lies.

On that score btw wrd is very much the exception, he has just passed on things he has heard, with zero reward in any way from it, and honestly only such 'anonymous' posters can hold their hands up as not trying to benefit in some way from passing info on.

Here's the thing mate. As a top 7 team and hoping to improve on that, signing a striker on loan from relegation candidates Watford (who would be happy to let him go) isn't the way the club needs to be looking. 10 years ago maybe but as west ham reject on loan proved last season he just isn't very good.

So loaning someone in that scenario is us pretty much acting like a small time club especially when the player he is replacing in the team is 90 million pound international striker lukaku.

I'm not asking for a 90 million pound striker by any means and understand the striker type I want would never join us anyway. But we have to be aiming higher than a Watford loan surely? Otherwise what is the point?
