He's just coming out with common sense correcting the misquote, Ajax will sell if the price they get offered is high enough, and the player realises that - and doesn't want to get tagged with lying/being a Judas about staying etc.

He's got an awful mess with his agent atm as well - which has blown up the past fortnight, his dad said they have split, the agent says he's still got him under contract for the next year, then his agent goes and starts trying to drum up interest in the press from clubs - citing a lot of interest in him etc.

No idea whats going on there frankly - player reportedly wants to join one of the big Dutch agencies (SEG) according to Danish/Dutch media.

Do you think there's much chance of us getting him mate? IS he one you would like us to get, or one you think we are pursuing?

His hold-up play is good - and his positioning in the build-up as well.

Could just be a one-off though yeh, which is the risk considering Bournemouth would demand a big fee.

I'm a big fan of the way anyone that plays half decent or scores against us turns into a player we should sign.

He's had a very good season after a decent season last year.

He's bulked up and excelled in a central role - scoring a variety of goals.

I'm not saying we should go all-out for the lad. I just think he'd a be a decent acquisition as part of our front line.

All honesty mate, nah - think we have a really small chance - even if he is a major target for us.

Don't think we have the ability with the people in charge to get a deal like this over the line, it'd require going in with a really big bid, no messing around and thats not what we ever do. IF we did bid on him - reckon all we'd do is fanny around with low ball offers and just perk the itnerest of someone else who'd come in with a serious offer.

I'd love nothing more than to be wrong like, he's the type of player i'd love to see us go after and yeah few players we could attract I'd rather have than him. As for are we after him - God knows mate, be surprised if Koeman and Walsh didn't have an interest, but to get him they'd have to be be frothing at the mouth in terms of desire to get him in.

Should try and poach a few of the lesser sides best players again, it's a good tactic. Sigurdsson, King, Benteke, Gibson, Robertson, Defoe, and if we're being a touch more optimistic, the boy Chilwell. Few of that lot. As well as some boss foreign league players too.

If being optimistic is buying Chilwell then god help us
There is only one of the above mentioned players I'd consider good enough to take us forward
