Summer Transfer Window 2017

Play 2 up front at times, actually have the ability to rest and sub at times and have the option of playing one as that tucked in wide player ala mane at saints.
So we can afford to spend 40m on a player who may or may not play depending on our formation or the way the game is going.
If Everton spend 40 m ( which is smashing our transfer record ) on a player it will be a player who goes straight into the first 11 every week injury permitting as Lukaku did as Bolassie did as Schnederlin did.
We are not spending 20/30/40 m on squad players , it just ain't happening.

Just say for arguments sake we sign Dolberg for 35/40 m and as Koeman has stated he wants Lukaku to stay for one more season and nobody comes in with an acceptable bid where do we play Dolberg

Who said we would do? Your entire question was 'for arguments sake'

I'm saying if as posters here want we sign Dolberg where do we play him
I'm saying we are not going to sign him in the next 2 transfer windows

According to SSN its between us WBA and Southampton to sign Henry ( belgian top scorer this season whose surname I have no idea how to spell ) who has a release clause of £6.8 million

Edit - just checked and his surname is Onyekuru and 19 and plays for KAS , scored 20 goals this season.

Lads. Remember when you were all going mental at Everton/Koeman/Walsh for not signing Gabbiadini?

Summer down lads. Leave it to the professionals.

Just wait until Everton sign players instead of doing this to yourselves. You're minimum wage biffs, not transfer and scouting experts.

to be fair, i think that'd still make him our second highest scorer? ha. Do we have anyone who's scored as much as 6, apart from lukaku?

Now that's more like the price range we will go for.
IMO Klassen ( if the rumours are true ) a GK and 1 possibly 2 CH is where the big money will be spent.
Don't forget Bolassie will be back and at 28 m chances are he and Lukaku will be 2 of our 3 front line.
We are not spending big money on squad players

Mate, Valencia, Kone, DCL have gotten lots of playing time this year for us, and some starts, we have been shoehorning players in as we are that threadbare up front besides Lukaku in a desperation to try get him some support. Yet you don't think we'd play Dolberg as a starter if he was here?

No we wouldn't play Dolberg as a starter ahead of Lukaku
Valencia and Kone are cheap squad players and it would be great to have someone of Dolberg quality on the bench
But at 30/40 m it ain't going to happen.
It's all down to finances and priorities.
Anybody who knows anything about our squad realises a CF is way down our list of priorities if Lukaku stays.
That's why the likes of Sandro 6m and Henry 8 m are being linked

in my opinion, we're going to break up with besic and barry. with some transfer funds, we should sign with william carvalho, so our centeral skeleton will level up. there is not a bridge player between defenders and attackers. barkley plays selfish too much, tom davies is little bit soft. we need some muscle with the knowledge of the game. carvalho will suit.

So, 5 out 2 in.

Point being are we looking at a £100mill+ spend for next season?

Expectation will be ridiculous
I'm expecting a net spend north of 90 m
Most if not all of that I reckon will be spent on GK and defensive options.
It all depends on what we recoup from sales for the rest
I'd expect to see a lot of early outgoings this season

The likes od Sandro and Henry are being linked because they are both potential bargains mate

Using the value as a measuring stick is like saying us buying Gueye last season for 7m showed that central midfield was not a priority for us (which if anything it was the main priority)

One reason we never play with two strikers is that we don't actually have a half decent second one, we don't play with a true number 10 or secondary supporting striker - because we don't have anyone who is decent and can play that role effectively, we don't ever rest Lukaku or rotate him out the team because we have no one capable of playing up front besides him.

Ofc maybe the manager and Walsh are perfectly fine with the prospect of Lukaku playing 60+ games next season for the full 90, or should he get injured etc

Sandro and Henry - neither could play up front like Lukaku does alone btw and one of them isn't even a striker but a winger

Is Josh King replacing Lukaku?
I wouldn't mind seeing him as one of a few replacements for Rom. If we could use the Rom fee to get him, Deeney and perhaps also Tammy Abraham then we have a good stable of centre forwards for next season if you add DCL

Koemans preferred formation is 4/3/3
Hence one main striker
If he had the money I'm sure he'd like 2/3 players of a high standard for every position
Problem is he was left with a weak squad and hadn't got the type of money required to change it all at once.
I cannot see us spending big money on a player to rotate with Lukaku when there are other glaring deficiencies in the squad
