If the window isn't open yet how can Newcastle announce Christian Atsu has signed a 4 year deal? Unless it was with a view to buy from the loan like the Clev deal
I think it was.

Hope we steer well clear of Schmeichel after seeing that 6-1 performance against Spurs last week. Worst performance of a goalkeeper I've seen this season.

Following Atsu's impact as a substitute in the above games, he was picked to start the second leg of a Europa League Round of 16 match away to Dynamo Kiev on 19 March, with Everton leading 2–1 from the first leg. His team were eliminated after losing 5–2 on the night, he was withdrawn in the 65th minute, and that was his final first-team appearance for Everton.
Transfers between clubs under the same Umbrella, i.e, England and the FA, can be completed from when the last ball is kicked in the Premier League season.
Although, in England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same league can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June. International transfers cannot be made until the window has opened on 1 July.
Ah thanks Goat, how's the search for the one with the magic in their boots going?
Looks a good player
However he's 30 and hasn't scored a lot of goals.
His attitude and behaviour was questioned at Milan.
Seems to have found his niche at Rennes.
His father played there and he started his career there
How much would he cost
15/20m perhaps.

Everton are closing in on the signing of Southampton full-back Cuco Martina according to Football Faithful sources.
The Dutch born, Curacao international is out of contract with the Saints this summer, and has been linked with a move to Goodison Park by the Daily Mail earlier this month.
Sources close to The Football Faithful can reveal that the Southampton right back flew from Amsterdam to Liverpool on Wednesday morning to hold talks with Everton.
Martina originally moved to the Premier League back in 2015, moving from Dutch club FC Twente to Southampton, signing on a two-year contract. His only goal in English Football came in a 4-0 win over Arsenal, when the defender scored an absolute screamer.
Should the 27-year-old complete a move to Everton, he would be reunited with former Southampton manager Ronald Koeman, who left St Mary’s last summer to take over at Goodison Park. Ever since then, Martina has been linked with a move to Everton, but with the defender jetting in from The Netherlands this morning, it seems a deal is close.
He would provide cover for the injured Everton and Irelamd defender Seamus Coleman who is set to be out until at least Christmas after a horrific leg break whilst on international duty against Wales.
Christ I'm sick of the summer already. If this utterly woeful excuse of a footballer is signed and gets in the team before Kenny is given a fair crack then I give up.
Put it this way. We don't sign anyone until we kick a ball in that competition we'll have no striker as I'm sure Rom doesn't want to be cup tied if he's off, no Ross, no Del, no Lennon, no Valencia, no Coleman.
Unless we're rocking up prepared to go through without scoring any goals.
